A few bad seeds made it necessary for companies to make exit permits, they sold company furniture, cars etc.

if i am not misktaken, exit permits were also implemented in dubai, maybe to reduce the incidents of leaving their country without paying loans.

if its possible i would say, Salary Range.

discreimination is everywhere. in reality, thing they can do is remove the round about and convert into signal junction. this will help to lessen the traffic.

I think nationals who have the same education as many expats should be paid the same. I think alot of anger is because the expats are getting four times that in wages and benefits to the locals and the cost of living is extremely high in Qatar.

2: More Entertainment opportunities like Dubai

3: Transparency in services provided by all Ministries

4: Change in behaviour of almost all Qatari staff working in Ministries

5: We need more homes to bring the current high RENTS back to the level of before year 2000.

rlasrado.....I cant blame the round abouts...its really helping for a fluent flow....BUT IF & only IF....the drivers respect the law...which is unfortunately not in practice here.

PS: But again...when it comes to reckless driving, its almost everywhere.

...and I thought the south asians are "Mostly Impressed by the Westerns".....most of them wish to be like the westerners...they like "Goris"...they love to go to the west and get the citizenships because west is more accomodative, rewarding & respects human rights ...I am surprised to know that the Westerners think the other way.

PS: Its may be a coincidence(No Way) that most (99.99%) people from this part of world that I've encountered were rude (may be MY BADLUCK)...and probably most (99.99%) of South Asians that PM encountered were showing attitude towards the westerners.

Don't think roundabouts are a cultural thing but they are a nightmare to drive around in Qatar. Bahrain got rid of all its roundabouts and it is about time Doha does the same.

Mr.Landcruiser sees the roundabout and does not know whether to drive around it or drive through it :-) Mr Landcruiser also loves taking a left turn from the last lane in the roundabout.

Thought they would have demolished the jaidah roundabout - after one week of construction work no idea what they have achieved - it is still a bottleneck!!!! Three lanes merging into two in the roundabout etc etc etc....

It is just a joke.

To be serious, EVERY culture seems to have some racists, but we always tend to point it out in others and feel we are on the receiving end; when in reality the same people who complain usually exhibit their own bigotry against others.

exits, noc or other similar restrictions can be removed....

though i can even try to understand why concerned authorities have such restrictions in order to to safeguard certain interests or prevent certain occurrence but nevertheless i feel that it need not be applied to all expats in general....for instance after a expat has lived in the country for a reasonable period then he or she could be exempted...

another thing i find disturbing is the hostile behavior or intolerance that is generally exhibited....for example driving nowadays....

By anonymous• 25 Sep 2009 20:23
