Visiting qatari

I've been invited for dinner in my colleagues new house. Guess you could call it house warming. Is it customary to bring a small present in an occasion like this?

Advice much appreciated :-)

I would buy a nice tray of chocolates from one of the many chocolate/flower shops in town.

Alternatively, a nice cake from Bateel or another nice bakery cafe will do the trick as well.

Lastly, something from your home country is normally very well received. As a Canadian, I try to buy a few extra bottles of high-end Maple Syrup as gifts for my Qatari friends.

before going to have a present, look for your colleagues liking & also for the Qatari culture, life style, daily routine etc....

the elaboration will come to you, and some shadows will appear in your mind,,,, so the choice for a present will be easier & easier for you

Thanks a lot for the advice, but I really need some elaboration to fully understand :-)

It would be appropriate to bring something, at it should smell nice? Really, or is my english lacking here??

Greetings added by a Gift are always fragrant.

and it brings "Dream come True" when someone is shifting to His new house.

presents or gifts are neither small nor cheap/expensive. for moving to a new house gift, i'll opt for a gift which will stay long, appealing & eye catching of the visitors...

the choice rests with you
