I slept quite well but it is afternoon now and my work day is finally winding down to allow for some breathing space.

TRy stopping over in london and grabbing a nice summer suit on Oxford. Personally I wouldn't be caught dead in a suit.. lol thats a lie.. Its just that I prefer more covering clothes.

The most valuable items I brought with me were capris and bermuda shorts and believe it or not, light sweaters.  While it is very warm outside the indoor air conditioning can be quite chilly.  You can find just about anything else here in terms of tank tops (for under sweaters), knit tops, sandals etc.  I also brought shorter shorts for wearing around the compound.

KSA - do u and smokey there take one step to the left then one to the right and then one to the back and then one to the front and do the HOkey Pokey coz that's wat it's all about...................lol

I am takin so many steps i dunno if i am movin fwd or backwards......duh

and so till next week one step at a time fellas and if ya have to crawl ,crawl then.................hehehehhehe

And regarding your clothing...hmmmm, cant say much, dont take too much stress on the dresses, spare this place and respect the little bit of culture that is is required...with this you should be able to put  2+2 and pack the things that form this place...not that, me, darude, and smokey would mind you not covering up...LOL...alright jokes apart, take it easy, and take this place as one of thos not like and soon wanna be Florida types...but just not at the moment buddy...

 happy packing?  i hate it and i'm terrible....  spiritually you need to send some more vibes my way.  i am not feeling it. want to laugh, but i really need some excedrin and a neck massage.  3:50a.m.now. my flight is at 10 something with two lovely little uh well they are 9 and 6.   thankful for my pashminas   I AM SOOOO TIRED 

 i am not wearing the dress to the interview, but no it does not cover my shoulders.  if i wear it out, i guess i'll need to wear something around them.   for the interview, i had planned to wear nice trousers and a top i adore.  not crazy, think jcrew or as i mentioned above anthropologie.

yeah u can wear anything sleeveless just have a pashmina handy with ya to just cover up whenever else like me i wear sleeveless most of the time but have a cotton shirt/blouse over it and when ya dont need it heck girl take the thing off...........lol- good luck with the packin (been there done that) know wat ya goin thru sweetin- happy packin and see ya soon- ciao

Well, I think it is better to dress fairly formally for a job interview.  It gives a better first impression.  Appearance is often marked down on interview comment sheets.

 talking my language now!  is it o.k. to wear a long beachy dress that has thin straps?  I love my jeans, but should i even bring them?  when i arrive tomorrow whatever i bring stays.

Oh, if you do have some pashminas, bring them. I gave all mine away back home and had to buy new ones here : ( Though it is quite hot here, most places blast the aircon and you end up feeling quite cold whilst indoors.

i know how it's in Florida... have been there few times .. that's why i know what i am talking about..lol...

and hey.. if you don't like to feel cold, please DO bring warm clothes. It's bloody cold here in the winter time. Take warm sweat pants and sweaters for home. And I personally do have a warm jacket (short coat) and boots. Some gals I know even wearing gloves in the winter. And of course, wool, cashmere and such will be very helpful during the cold winter.

If you are going for an interview at a school, you should wear a lightweight summer suit.  Interviews are generally formal affairs and it is better to look smarter than more casual.  To me, too casual means you haven't bothered enough.

its just summer here so dont bring any winter furry kinda dress.

 just get some important documents that you will need and some dress. and extra stuff that you might need.

Pack clothes suitable for summer, I mean the real summer as in hot and sticky desert types. If u have lots of shoes/sandals footwear bring them all:)

How you dress will have some bearing on how you are perceived and treated as with anywhere.  I go walking in tracksuit and baggy t shirt

....some do wear shorts.. but I just want to go around my daily life with minimum fuss. I save dressing up for going out.

You can wear whatever you want here, but if you wear skimpy clothes people will stare. Never mind the clothes, if you are blonde ppl will stare at you anyway!

Make sure you pack goodies that you like, for example, your favorite shampoo, bubble bath (you don't really find nice ones like Radox here, they're either really cheap or really expensive), hand cream (you'll need loads of hand cream here, if you have a favorite brand bring it along with you), body lotion etc.

Just keep in mind that this is a Muslim country, and it gets really hot in summer...u wont get to wear everything u wear in Florida but just wear something decent, u can wear whatever u want at home but when ur out u need to respect the culture around here. So anything decent that u think isnt to revealing to give people the wrong idea is fine... :) btw ksarat, Darude and I will be waiting with arms wide open to meet u in doha, so please dont bring ur husband, boyfriend just leave him behind ;) j/k

wouldn't suggest bringing anything transparent, unless you gonna wear it with the under-top…

I love and used to wear very short skirts in Canada.. I don’t feel like wearing them here… I only wear them at home…my style has been changed here.. i became more modest with my clothes...even though it took some time...

There is an unofficial dress code for women of keeping shoulders and knees covered.  Also nothing too tight fitting.  Clothes suitable for summer for most of the year.
