Arabic Words for Today
Sabah al khair, everyone!
Let's say you're not feeling well and you want to tell your boss in Arabic that you couldn't go to work because you have:
humma -- fever
zukaam -- cold / flu
su'aal -- cough
Mr. Osama, please confirm if my English-Arabic dictionary is correct or whether some other local terms are used. Please also give us the Arabic for headache and stomachache.
Thanks!
Hyperfifier, let's see if some of our friends here would try your suggestion soon. Hope it would work, but it would certainly never hurt to learn a few words to explain what you feel and why you'll be missing work. You'll never know when it would come in handy. Could even impress some mudheera mutheera.
who would you need to tell your boss of what medical condition you have. just say i am not well and that is it. i dont think he /she are interested in that at all.
call by phone and tell him you are not feeling well. one covers all. just say ( ana mareedh) ana=I, Mareedh= ill
. dont say Ta'aban. this means tired which implies you had a rough noght .lol stayed late watching tv or partying makes you tired.
try it. call youe boss and tell him then show up for work, you can always explain that you wanted to try you Arabic language skills. lol
I dare you....lol....let me know how it goes
That's great, Mr. Osama! Thanks a lot, as always.
