Hello QL Folks

Today we will learn the Arabic words of some Sports:

Words:

Kora = Ball = كرة
Korat Salla = Basketball = كرة سلّة
Korat Kadam = Football = كرة قدم
Mulakama = Boxing = ملاكمة
Tazalloj = Skiing = تزلّج
Jary = Running = جري
Sebaha = Swimming = سباحة

Letters:
Yesterday we have finished mentioning all the letters, and upon request of some of our QL Friends here it is again:
ا = Alef = A (like in Alfa)
ب = Baa = B (like in Big)
ت = Taa = T (like in Tea)
ث = Thaa = th (like in Thursday, Throw, Think)
ج = geem = G / J (like in Germany, Geography, Gym)
ح = Haa = H’= 7 (like the snake sound, or like speaking silently)
خ = KHaa = KH (like the name Khaled)
د = Dal = D (like in Dove)
ذ = thal = th (like in The, Then, This)
ر = Raa = R (like in Rain)
ز = Zai = Z (like in Zero)
س = Seen = S (like in Say)
ش = Sheen = Sh (like in Shine, Shoe, Shelf)

غ = Ghain = gh (like the French ppl pronounce R)
ف = Faa = F (like in fill, file, fake)
ق = Qaf = Q (like in Qatar)
ك= Kaf = K (like in Keep)
ل = Lam = L (like in Love)
م= Mem = M (like in Man)
ن= Noon = N (like in No)
هـ = Haa = H (like in Hide)
و= Wao = W / O (like in Were, One)
ي= Yaa = E / Y (like in Ear, Yen)

* I didn’t mention ص، ض، ط، ظ، ع coz it is not similar to any of English letters and it should be heard from native speaker in order to understand how it is spelled.

Osama u were almost right. i was askin u to do me a favour and was trying to say i dont know and then i put the following words which i have heard but dont know.

which was twal limne?? and keteer and lano?

I now know my friend was saying lano meaning leana = because and i think keteer is alot. is this right?

My arabic isnt good and my friends english isnt that good so sometimes its hard to talk and understand eachother.

I really appreciate all the help u give us QL'rs everyday, its nice that some people do take time out of their life to help others so thank u osama.

I know you didnt put in some of the letters but i do struggle with one and that is ain? (i think that is how u say it) you use it in street - sharia?? is that how i would use it?

Ok i will also practise some arabic on u, i know were not supposed to but u are helping us so much and i really dont know these words and would like too. Please correct me if i mis spell or it isnt quite write.

LP my dear na'bina humar...i have read in Arabic translation books tat Thanks is 'Shukran' and shukran is not shukran but 'thanks'....:(
