Arabic Course?
By Missteacher •
Hi
I am a teacher and have been living and working in Doha for a year now and my arabic is very minimal. I would like to take a course after work to learn arabic. Does anyone know anywhere that has courses or even a native speaker who could tutor me??
Thank you in advance
MT
MT, after 5 levels of Fanar, they promise a vocabulary of only 300 words! Obviously not sufficient for converation, they concentrate on reading/writing which is a different kind of Arabic. I did my colloquial Arabic in Palestine so I speak with a Palestinian accent and a Khaliji vocabulary!Mandi
Tried to call fanar and email them but no luck! my friend is from jordan....she tries to teach me words but i need an intense course or tutoring or something. I would like to be able to speak to the locals here in Doha....even parents who's children I am teaching.
Also, decide which accent you want to learn. Whether it's Syrian/Lebanese, or Gulf, or Egyptian... They are all quite different..
All I knew from Fanar was hathihi bakara (this is a cow) and hatha Arnab (this is a rabbit).. How often do you need these words in your daily life ? The rest of Arabic I know from my hub :)..
Fanar is a good place to learn arabic but that is "formal arabic". It is not oriented for conversation skills.
attend osamabawab's QL tutoring :)
just type his name, osamabawab on the search box and you will learn some arabic from his threads :P
....or should I say shukran! xx
You can learn it here. The best in Dohahttp://www.fanar.gov.qa/TrainingCenter.aspxClick the above link.
