We are about to relocate to Qatar within the next month or so. We need to know what the dress code is for females and are women allowed to drive in Qatar. Many thanx Mark.
Rest assured that your wife driving here will not be a problem, and dress wise would be the same as in any mall in JHB or anywhere else back home....
The men here have a tendancy to stare at the western women so I am sure she would feel more comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans as opposed to a skirt and filmy top.
Again with regards to driving, do see that your wife gets her license here as she will feel like her independance has been taken away if she doesn't. Thats how I feel. I would kill to have my little Bantom here with me so I could zoot around... I am in the process of getting my license as I have had enough of waiting for taxis.....
If you need any further info, don't be afraid to ask.

PS, I am curious, I see you are a security specialist. I have a friend, who spend almost 17 years in the SAP, about 5 of those in a specialised unit. He is a CQB trained body guard, a dog handler, trainer/behaviourilist and protection/manwork work expert. He is keen to come over here for work, would you know if there are any positions available.
Just incase you were wondering....he is not my boyfriend, but my ex husband. I am just looking to see him doing what he loves the most.
Don't forget when coming to Doha you need an International Driving License if you want to hire a car for more than two weeks. Once you have your local license it doesn't matter.
But you cannot get an International Driving License in Doha.
Women can drive. They need a valid Qatari DL. Dress code is more liberal than Saudi;). Women should remember they are guests in a Muslim country and dress appropriately. No Bikinis at the malls etc. An abyaha is not necessary if that's your question.
