Why was the National area called 'National'?

I can't seem to find a billboard that says 'National' in the area.
It's Musherib, people.
And how come when you say Musherib, they don't even know where it is?

yeah its same like ramada junction for ramada hotel and the most important Airport road for the airport...
In the old days they did not have street signs and used to call places after certain companies that were there. National because of the National showroom, Jaidah flyover because of the Jaidah company, MidMac because of the Midmac company etc. Some of the original companies are still there but in other places the companies have been demolished or disappeared but the names still remain.
