I can say it depends on the life style... The bigger the amount you have, the more you want to spend...

An Indian can advise an Indian...

What the problem with that???

Just say where your coming from...

Then we can give good advise...

I'm racist because I ask that???

man... it doesn't mean I like it, or i think it's right, or it's fair.. I don't like it, and i don't think it's right or it's fair...but this is a fact, and it's not in my power just to change it in a moment, no matter how much i would like to!

It IS sad.. I see our tea boy is sleeping every minute he can get. I asked him once, what he is doing during the nights? is he playing cards? Drinking? outing with the girls? i kindda was kidding.. he said, he lives with other 10 (TEN!) guys in the room! you can imagine! one is coming, other is leaving, three are chatting, two are snoring, one wants to listen to the music.. or whatever else!! I was a bit shocked, and felt sorry for him.. and i thought: silly me, looking out of MY world: cards, girls(boys), booz… Guy would love to sleep, but just has got no chance!! And he is still here, and he is pretty happy about it, and probably he even helps his mom and sister back home..

What can I do??? Just to help this particular guy with some cash, which I have done…

"If one comes from the country where there is nothing to eat, and they are half starving there, this person would be more than happy to have a room, even shared with 3 other guys, and to have a good dinner every day"

i can't help but feel sorry on how a person from the third world country is being described or defined by someone from a first world..

just a reaction..

Winn sorry to say it, but it DOES make change what region ppl are coming from... If one comes from the country where there is nothing to eat, and they are half starving there, this person would be more than happy to have a room, even shared with 3 other guys, and to have a good dinner every day, and even to be able to save few pennies to send them back home, which will give one's family a food for a month... and it's different if one is going to leave his own house in his country, his good car, his favorite bar with few drinks every evening, his friends from the childhood... that one would probably need a bit more than a room sharing with three other guys and a good dinner, and a bit more pennies to send back home to be able to help the family... and most likely he wouldn't accept the offer with the sharing room... but since qatar still needs him, qatar will offer him a bit more than that...

so it DOES matter...

How can one say if this is enough money for me to live on. It is like asking what does patato or rice taste like. Impossible to answer. Maybe your maximum is my minimum? Who knows? Who can answer this? Only yourself.

I agree to some extent but the dietary habits vary considerably.

Asking the question in the first place is like asking "how long is a piece of string"?

Vegas, whether a person comes from America or Asia doesnt change how much rent he has to pay for an apatrment in Doha, or how much he should pay for stuff like rice, bread, meat and such.

Vegas, thats double standardism. I dont think the expenses r depending on what country is someone from, but to how do they spend their money.
