In terms of customer service Doha Bank is one of the worst bank in Qatar. I am trying to open a savings bank account from last two weeks. They have a mentality that you come back another day they dont have time etc. If we question them they will complain to us that their system have technical issue, the branch don't have enough staffs etc.. All these things they will say to us after waiting for long hours

you never get connected to the customer service in Doha bank, I have kept on hold for 24 minutes. I guess there is really nobody to answer the calls in their so-called call centre. I am unable to change the PIN code on the credit card. Doesnt all ATM's come with a PIN change option in QATAR??? and is not PIN no. to be chosen by the user and not by the bank??

MD an dother- Nothin gi s itnerest free in the banking. Being islamic bank ,these banks do a buy and sell agreement in loans. They buy a car for 100,000/- on your behald and at the same time, sell it to you at 115,000/- Thus that 15,000/ is their islamic profit ( INTEREST INCOME).

MD, the new bank does not take or pay interest.. what they take and pay is 'commission'!

as a banker i believe that usually BANKS and their services are not bad for their own customers but it is their few or one staff whose inexperience in banking sector and lack of knowledge of its bank's products give bad names to that bank.

.

Banks must provide complete knowledge along with quality training to their staffs so not a single customer get disappointed by their services. Its understood that not all can be satisfied by a bank as every customer has its own priorities

1. They have called me for additional payments on credit cards when I am below my limit and made the minimum payment.

2. Frequently, I find that I can't use my credit cards when traveling.

3. It is not uncommon to be told that you cannot use your HSBC card at any other bank's ATM on weekends.

4. They changed their internet banking set-up so that now you can only access it using Internet Explorer on a PC and I use a Mac.

The worst bank in Qatar without even thinking about it standard Charted Bank SCB you wanna know y ??

Here we go:

What kind of bank only got 2 branches

I got story for the branches thing, I used my ATM and the stupid machine captured my card so I called and they said you have to came down to the branch, so I went to D ring brand (2nd Branch) and they told me we can’t help you should go to the other branch, I was like you saying as you have 100 branches in Doha you only 2 branches in Doha is that too hard !!!!!!!!?? he said that my account is there so I should go to the other branch, so I was like I can’t go there its too far for me and I was I shocked when he said if I want to deal with D ring branch I should transfer my account from the main branch to the D-ring branch, he is talking as it’s a completely other bank..........WTH…………on the same day went back to the bank to withdraw cash bcoz my I don’t have an ATM they charged me 50 QR because the amount was less than 10k QR….and by the way I got the new ATM after 26 Days!!!!!!

If you ask for anything they will charge you for 100 minimum

The calling center sucks

One more info the manger of the D-ring branch have no clue of whats going on !!!!

And they also refused to withdraw a check saying that I have also to go to the main branch !!!!!!!

SO THE WORST BANK IN DOHA IS============== SCB

The worst bank in Qatar is CBQ for sure. The bank is there just to charge for each and every customer activities and the service also is like hell. To be specific, today I tried to make an online transaction but it failed as the other company doesn't accept debit cards for their products as per their latest policy (I did the same purchase before also from this same company, but its ok, changing their policy is their right!!). But my account was debited the very first moment I click 'submit'. Then I called CB and explained the story to them. The answer I got was, it will take 2 weeks to 45 days to credit the amt back to my account. What a great service!!!! I just hooked up the call thanking god that I didn't go for a big amount purchase.

My sincere advice to all you friends, PLEASE DO NOT BANK WITH CBQ!! I have a lot more to say about my different bitter experiences with CBQ but just controlling myself.

Doha Bank - especially if your salary is transferred there monthly. Just request your Accountant to hand-over your salary to you. Its better to keep a safe/vault at home and keep your money there instead, or best to send it to your family back home.

I tell you, it takes too much time for salary to be transferred. This happened 3 times already with my company. All other employees have already taken their respective salaries from their bank(s) and only the Doha Bank account holders haven't got their salaries yet. Tsk, tsk, tsk!!! Too bad.

Also, if they charge you for your credit card, days before the month ends, expect the bill to be delivered to you, but when salary is the topic, expect about a week later.

Everything you request will cost you 100 Q.R. new pin? they have to replace the whole card. clearance letter you have to pay 100 Q.R. Credit Card? 10% automatic deduction even you 're paid up before the due date given. If you're not aware of your account? you bet there's unexpected charges. But unfortunately for them I always check my account and complain everytime it happens. :P

Have a nice day!
