Well the Egyptian army has issued a "threat" of a possible coup.

Whether you like him or not, Morsi is an elected president.

I want to get rid of Ca-moron , but can't till I vote him out in the next election..

So! What should happen in Egypt ?

Morsi's cabinet members are resigning and the military is against him. It's only a matter of time.

I wonder if he fell out of grace when they were caught on that tape saying Americans were the enemy.

I guess egyptians know the best and somewhere they feel what they got is not what they fought for. They will sure find their way sooner or later, everyone does (except India).

A military powered coup will not do their much fought for democracy any favors. And should the threat be carried out, then who will ever be willing to run for elections again knowing this is likely to be their outcome? Truly patience is a virtue..holding on till the next election date is by far a better way of ousting an unwanted government than violent protests and coups!

Egypt is giving the perfect answer for why religion has to be kept out of politics. The ruling party should govern for all citizens not just for a religious sect

I think the Egyptian people are making a mistake.. Allowing the Army to intervene only destroys democracy in the long run.

Democracy is a new thing to them. After all the twists and turns and the little distractions from time to time they will finally get there just like the other countries before them

Sulieman, for centuries egyptians have practiced an attitude of vengence and breach of conduct. It is natural of them to behave so, sad they only get sparked in brains and do little to control themselves.

We see them behave so even here in qatar at many places of public.

I'm torn on this one. Morsi was elected in a more or less free election but he is pushing a discriminatory Islamic agenda at the expense of Egypt non-Sunni Muslim population. I guess the Egyptian people have seen what happens to their freedom when Islam is imposed on a country and are worried it will happen to them too and then the end of their democratic experiment.

However it would be better for them to vote him out at the next election and if he refuses to go the army should step in.

Brit, well said. Actually in democracy people can laugh and speak only, which makes them crazy and they feel they are liberated.

In the case of egypt, people crying without using brain at all. Had they used, it would have supported their own elected leader towards betterment of country; which to me will take decades.

The plus point is they still have some really good intelligent people among themselves. They should cool themselves and work positively.

It too 2 decades to form constitution of india & lay down a plan of take over from the british before independence. But egyptians need the whole country to stand parallel with the world in one year . . . . ?

Continuous political chaos in Egypt is the result of fanatical attitude. After kicking out Mubarak and Morsi was elected by democratic election. Egyptians are expecting there country to be better under new leader at very short time. How could this be?

They should unite for good in benefits of their country.

thelo if you have 50.01% of the vote, you can grap 100% of the power. democracy is the rule of the people. not half of it.

Thelo ,,

Literally it means the PEOPLE Power, but if they didn't use this power properly, it will kill them.

It is a regime ruled by PEOPLE.

Direct or indirect held by PEOPLE under a free electoral system.

but behind all this, The PEOPLE should look at the general benefits, to the country.

lack of real POLITICAL PARTIES.

and lack of proper representation within the ruling circles and decision making teams.

what are the egyptian parties, agenda? what is their program?

and no! removing morsi is not a political program. give me a decent alternative detailed economic, and political program to follow you. otherwise it's utterly destruction of the country for selfish reasons.

EGYPT

What a story, i think the the main problem right there the shallow way of handling the situation, and they don't really know what they wants.

What should happen there:

The people should really understand what the word "Democracy" means, and for sure it doesn't mean that i have to shout in the street for everything, if i came home and i found the my wife didn't cook for example!!,

but i should look at the general benefit for the country, not just to look at me personal demands.

They should listen to each other, they divided themselves into many categories

Muslims (Ikhwan, Salfi, ....

Christians

Secularist

Mubarak, Jamal abdelnasser and mosry groups

UNITY

In some ways I understand their impatience Brit, Morsi's done nothing. But the Canadian in me, who is used to politicians doing nothing LOL, is like "Dudes, it's been a year.."

And no getting the military to step in is a BAAADDD precedent. They're setting themselves up for another Mubarak.

This sets a bad precedent.. It means that the Army can step in any time and remove a civilian government.

The worse thing is that people don't realise that democracy does not always get me the government I want, but I have to respect the wishes of the majority.

Everyone is dictator , Egyptian people, army and all.. ultimately Grandfather sam's (Mubarak) people would like to take over again.. After electing someone they should give him a turn..it is not so easy to build a country just in a year after a historic revolution..

I am not sure who would like to be the next president.. he will also face the same challenges..

So once the people let the army get rid of Morsi, what are the people going to do to get rid of the army? Do I smell a military dictatorship on the horizon?
