What Makes You Angry?

Stork
By Stork

We all know Qatar can be a frustrating place to live.

We've all had that "arrgghhh" moment.

What is it that drives you mad?

What services from back home do you miss most?

And what is the one service you would most like to see introduced here to make your life easier?

Fire away!

Stork.

What Makes You Angry? : Nothing, I don’t get angry in general!

Frustrating: NO, not at all (It's my choice to be here and no1 is forcing me),

What is it that drives you mad?

- Fanatics,

- Rash drivers,

- Customer service (Someone please tell them that “customer” is customer, if not the king or God, and must be served irrespective his/her nationality, status etc)

What services from back home do you miss most?

- Freedom to chose preferred TV channels at reasonable cost.

- Library and culture of reading

- culture of Walk

- Social bonding

- Festivals

And what is the one service you would most like to see introduced here to make your life easier?

- No exit Permit

- No NOC

- Local FMs in English and other expat languages

- Local English TV channel

- Many libraries

BUT, Qatar boasts plenty of BETTER things too !!

What drives me mad? Materialistic attitude of people... if I need something from you I know you, else who are you.... haven't met the kind I met here (a handful of exceptions allowed).

What services I miss from back home? Customer Service... the racist attitude of the customer services personnel just gets on my nerves... the way they go from boot licking to ignore mode depending on which nationality the customer is from (exceptions allowed) is just mind boggling .... I would accept their ignorance about the products in store.

What is the one service you would most like to see introduced here to make your life easier.. as someone said above, whole array of Indian TV channels..

There are too many to mention. What can we do? We're already here. We need to earn money and then go back to the place we call home. I appreciate my country more now because of Qatar.

What makes me angry in general...Stupidity, ignorance, air of entitlement, smugness, selfrighteousness . I do not react on it often , but when I so, it may become rather uncomfortable for the person on the receiving end.

By one_shot• 12 Jan 2011 21:48

if some one rises his voice against me.

or the atitude .

usually i am a reaction man when it is related to anger.

but again my reaction some times become bigger than the action itself.

in my live few people only who i didn't react with the same reaction or more.

What is it that drives you mad? --- People out here hardly mingle with each other..

What services from back home do you miss most? -- ah,i miss many things..difficult to figure out one..

And what is the one service you would most like to see introduced here to make your life easier? --- Qatar has a room of improvement still..let's hope for the best to come from it....:))

A good bookstore, like Barnes and Noble.

Sales attendants that have at least a little clue about what they have in their stores, and understand although I am friendly, I am NOT interested in their life story, I only came to buy something.

oh, and if I call a store, it would be nice if the person that answers the phone does not do so saying "huh".

although the lack of these things do not make me angry...it just keeps me wishing they were available.

In Doha The Dune roads! Most of inner roads worst. Like in our country. kahrama, qtel & other contractors digging the road for some reason and not properly finishing it back. No department care about that. In some roads deep holes are becoming a speed breaker (humps).

I also dont understand why most of the inner roads does not have street lights. I am from rural india. In our place interior garden roads also have street light. I dont know to whom we have complain or suggest.

I hope these will be sorted about before FIFA 2022.

hmmmm... bearing in mind, I do love Qatar, but recent events have me totally frustrated with certain issues here.

Frustrated with (in no particular order):

How people who would actually be really nice and down to earth in their own countries, come here in a management position and end up on a power trip. They forget that others are human too.

Not being able to move in and out of the country at will. I would have been able to see some of the Gulf states if I was able come and go as I please. Its sad that I have lived in the Gulf for 5 years and haven't been to Dubai, Bahrain or Oman.

Having to buy the imported and extremely expensive Cadbury's chocolate (when I feel like something sweet) cause the locally made stuff tastes cr*p.

Not being able to have a nice piece of bacon when I go for brunch on a Friday, or a pork rib or pork chop at a BBQ.

Worrying about how I will make ends meet till month end, cause we haven't had an increase in 4 years and costs keep rising.

I could go on... but I deal with it all, cause I am a tolerant person, who figures its useless to f*rt against thunder;-P

What is it that drives you mad?

= Customer service

What services from back home do you miss most?

= shiatsu massage

And what is the one service you would most like to see introduced here to make your life easier?

= I'll rather answer a reverse question.

Customer Service- A major problem here! Establishments need to understand the value of customers here!!
