We wanted to go to the Cornishe yesterday night, but every single parking place were closed, 2 police cars in every roundabout, we even saw some soldiers too. The cornishe was dead yesterday, maximum 10 people were there totally, they or went by walk or were dropped off. So who knows why was that? Any famous person arrived?

We saw it too but on Saturday night. It was awesome! I wonder if it took that long to get from Dukhan to Doha at 20,000mph. Sometimes feels that we're that far away here in the sticks... (but we don't wear smocks and drink cider)

You can park the car at the on the right side jsut after the Corniche Signal (Before Dewan Emiri R/A) and can enjoy your walk. I was their yesterday and the whole corniche was deserted with just couple of people walkig/jogging.

go overhead at 20,000 mph last night at 5.00 p.m.

Also saw a lot of helicopter activity - it's the GCC summit thing. That Iranian bloke is here also! woo hoo Big Pow Wow time.

GCC probably prefer him in the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in! hehehe

I am agree with you all

whenever the leader coming to visit country/meeting etc

Itis normal procedure to do security alert

every where any country will do,same like Qatar

most if USA leader coming, even mobile will be blocked surrounding area

So,better don't go to Corniche area while GCC meeting held on Sheraton

DaRude had to ask for extra security because he was afraid of a riot:))

You have been here in Doha long enough to recognise them. Have not seen u lately....still busy or what?

The art of being wise is to know what to overlook.

No one can get into the Sheraton, it's blocked and guards are lined up upfront. This is a very normal procedure in Doha. Prior to a high-level summit or conference, police and traffic offices are spread all over the Cornich.

I did not go for a walk yesterday. I will try today though! hope I'm not gonna get caught for passing a good time..:)

Just make sure you have your ID on you when you are out.
