What Doha needs today...
1- A big Friday or Saturday flea market within city near Villagio or near Wakra in open space with permanent cement slabs for the vendors and prmanent ultra clean washroom facilites with parking lots too.
2- Water sports at Corniche.
3- Helicopter rides for tourists at good affordable rates.
4- Weekend tour buses for out of city beaches.
5- Big huge parks at Dukhan highway with loads of trees and grass.
6- A big rabbit park for kids.
7- Develop Doha as printing press hub.
8- Sea cruise to Oman, India, Bharain and other coastal countries.
9- Hot air balloon rides.
I feel they need to focus on starting small cruise liners for nearby countries and ski jet boat rides to Iran n Bahrain...with a collaboration..on weekends people can enjoy lot mare with this as majority is earning good and has nothing to do adventurous...
Some of ideas not so good... helicopter rides, sea cruise and printing press ? I would say Doha could be a stopping point for other sea cruises.. but not a starting point.
Totally agree with a lot more water sports at affordable rates... especially on Cornish... in fact in Abu Dhabi the entire Cornish is one big excellent beach with lots of facilities.. great idea... bring life to the city.
Add to the list:
- Marina similar to the one in Dubai, with lots of walking area and coffee shops, and beaches, etc.
- Normal good gyms that do not charge an arm and a leg
- Martial Art and sport clubs with good trainers
helicopter rides...what will they see here...only desert...u can ask hamad hospital helicopters for that :P
