That was harsh! maybe you're "effectively invisible" because you weren't all that noticeable to begin with ;-)

to fit for driving...and yes, I'm being very serious..its dangerous not to have peripherial vision when driving..we women already have a bad enough rep without adding in that we can't see!!!

face covering is really pretty...especially with the arabic women who have such lovely eyes in the first place! (and no I don't swing that way, I just don't have a problem giving a compliment when it is warranted!!)

Yep...that's my take.It also prevents one from direct sunlight :))

it doesnt feel ticklish to me but its difficult to drive because your peripheral vision is affected.

its actually kind of fun to wear them every now and then as a complete disguise, although Oryx is right you still do get some attention, from the very religious people trying to make out your age and shape, instead of the usual gawkers staring straight at your tits.

Scarlett....not all women have to cover their face...a lot of women just cover their hair..from my understanding...thats is called niqab..which covers the face too..n ur right it would b ticklish...but each to their own i guess...

You don't have to put on makeup, and you can go to the mall in your pajamas.

it had a very good basis when it first started. I think they look very elegant personally, but I couldn't wear one..I'd end up sneezing. (Not a racist remark, I just know myself and my nose is ticklish)

If u wanna know the reasons why women in Islam wear hijab..it is outlined in this website...It is not because men want to oppress women and force them into hijab as most people believe...

No disrespect, but to my poor opinion it's anachronistic.

girls can look even more attractive veiled because it leaves more to the imagination...very mysterious...

fully veiled girls can get more 'invitations'....

attractive does not mean less is best....which is a great lesson to learn!

You are effectively invisible- perfect for those days you don't feel like running into anyone at the supermarket. Or you can't be bothered getting out of your pyjamas.

By wearing this dress, the culture and tradition of the nation is respected.
