Hi everboby,

We wish to move but need to know Salary wise the standard of living, avability of rental flats 2 bhk and the current rents in qrs, what would it include. What would you call a good salary in qrs.

Good school for my girl, she is yet 2 yrs old, do I need to enroll herself for now.

Once my husband moves to Doha how soon can I follow with my daughter, or is their a way to go alongwith him, can the same company sponsor my vise / daughter's visa...is it possible what are the rules / implications.

Say if he moves first how soon can I follow as the next option.

What would be an ideal location to live whereby the school, residence , supermarkets are close by... I am looking at the salwa road region is it okay as most likely I may have to take a warehouse in that area / office some place else.

what do you guys suggest. Pls revert.

regards and thanks to all.

manaz, once you are here, you can travel to dubai but everytime u want to go to dubai you need to obtain a visa over there, if your husband has a proper designation on his id, which he will recv after his rp is done, you can awail the visa on arrival in dubai.

it can take sometimes a month for the formalities to be over, all depends upon the company immigration rep, how quick he is or how lazy he is.what do youwish to work as manaz?what about paid tickets for family and annual leave.

To All

regarding housing, currently, a new 2 bedroom matchbox size flat is 5000+, 3bed, again match box, is 7000+, and villas are easily 12000+. oh and all these are unfurnished.if u take furnished, add 2000 more to rubbish furniture they may give you.

whoever is coming here, better try to get accomodation provided by the company in the contract clause.

Once your husbund gets his RP (Residence Permit) original he can apply for your and baby's RP's. He can be your sponser. But still He has to get the approval from his company. I got my wife's visa in 4 days but all the paper work and submittals were done by my company's immigration liason officer (banduk). Your husbund need the marrage certificate and birth certificates translated in to English/ Arabic and endorsed by your country's embassy here. If your husband profession stated like engineer/doctor/manager he will be granted dubai visa on arrival. Ask him to make sure his real position is stated in the visa document which is in arabic. some peole come here as a professionals but these visas are for labourers or masons like. This will be a problem for him to apply for your visa.

I am afraid you will have to rent a room in someone's house with your housing allowance.

I also paln to move in to Qatar and My Salary Structure is as follows.

Basic 9,700

Housing Allowance 3,500

Travelling 800

This offer was received in April 2006 and my moving was delayed.

Do you think it's a good offer or do you think I should ask for a revision depending on the time lapse ( the offer is over six months old now)

Hi,

Han 19,

Thank you for the inputs, we are from India Mumbai, we were in Doha in Feb 06 and did survey the place we did find it expensive but a very upcoming place.

How lomg does the formalities for Premanant Resisdent take.? so that I and my baby could follow.

Yes surly my husband will be provided a home / car / and a handsome packages else the complete excersis to move would be futile. Leaving the home ( is the home rent approx qrs 5000/ a furnished home) and what area approx coould I get the same) / car is Qrs 7000/-a fair package for him, car and home by company.

also would like to know if we have a PR in Doha do we require to have a visa to fly to Dubai / back.?

Would be grateful if you could suggest some agents for home / office as the same needs to be set up in Doha.

My arrival would all depend on my husbang moving for Doha approx Feb 07 and after he aquires his PR would I be able.

Thanks a lot in advance.

hi manaz,

you havent told what is package they are offering, normally your spouse would come first and then once his paperworks are done with he gets u here on a visit visa, and then applyfor family visa, but u need to be here in person for that.

not sure if you can travel with your husband right now.

your babay is too small for school, if u intend to work then u can put her in a nursery, there are a couple of them in the city.

salwa would be a bit far, not sure if they have many nurseries over there.they admit kids in school by 3and half years of age, but there are places that take kids as young as 1year.when you are here i can let you know the places, but these places are quite crowded.

if you are used to company and people back home, be prepared to spend hours of solitude here, bcos if u have no car getting anywhere is a headache.

standard of living has gone high, rents are crazy, a 2bhk would be 5000qrs or more, better if company is providing the accom.

not all indians get paid lavish salaries, so i would say a good salary with all expenses included (car, rents.utilities, bills, groceries),would be 15000qrs.

when are you arriving and where are you from.
