Is there anyone can help..how would I know if they really got my plate number or I will have a penalty soon..and how much..I am just a newbie in Qatar

What happened is,I told to my friends to meet me at the main entrance, that I had to park outside because the parking inside is full...so while we are inside the car we saw these two people writing my plate numbers..I confronted them and asked but they proceed to the Karwa man holding a paper and told that we are carlifting..I said they are my friends..he ignore me..

If anyone experienced or have the idea please share

thankyou

Ever since my arrival in Qatar my smoking has increased drastically. Its been 3-4 packets(60-80 Cigs) each day. I desperately want to see a tobacco cessation specialist so that I can either reduce or completely give up this habit. I am here on a visit visa, hence cannot visit a government run hospital like Hamad, which I have heard has a dedicated clinic to treat smokers. Does anyone know of any private hospital offering help in this regard? I need immediate medical intervention.

Thats not the way to solve problems in a broad sense. The authority should be more proactive in enforcing the laws. How come you expect a third party doing all these reporting which is seen as baised.

Must be Karwa only behind this. They must have kept their guys to check on the illegal ones around which effects their revenue.

Why should you drag nationality in to this?? grow up.

on what they're doing. You have all the right to question them why they took down your plate number as you didn't do any traffic violations. In what authority they'd do that anyway? Are they what?A citizen police?

write their plate number too.. and then gave it to the police....

Doha is full of carlifters nowadays, so anybody who parks in front of City Centre and wait for some friends to board their car are be suspected to do carlifting business and Karwa must be doing some survey writing down plate numbers.

There are people I know who have a good job but still do carlift as a sideline/extra income. Not that I'm doubting you...but I would rather be sure before I lift my finger and "dial a friend"...di ba?

Karwa company (taxi drivers) used to take down private cars plate numbers which they suspected getting passengers on the street or the private car used to take passengers while the Karwa taxi is about to stop and get them to ride..

1)dont worry too much about this..were the 2 guys in karwa uniform?..u said they gave ur number to the karwa guy..explain urself to the cops if these karwa guys do actually complain..The cops here will hear your side of your story..the guys from karwa are not cops,so screw them..maybe they were trying to hustle you..(if they werent in karwa uniform..u shud have taken a snaps of all the 3 of them with ur phone too..the cops will hear you out and decide..if it does come to that..u cant be fined without any proof..especially if a cop didnt take down ur number..

2)if u were carlifting..(the term you used)avoid,citycentre ;-)..
