'Watchmen' Movie in Qatar

So, have any of you been thinking of going to see 'Watchmen' at the cinema? Well my advice is, DON'T!
Don't get me wrong, it was an absolutely spectacular film, but it's just not worth it in Qatar cinemas.
As someone who has read the book, I understood the storyline, but my friends who also watched the movie with me did not, because of the sheer number of scenes which were cut out.
Not that I don't respect Qatar censorship, but it goes too far with this movie, and in my opinion, makes it unwatchable.
Just my opinion, trying to save a few of you your precious 35QRs!

from the movie review I have watched at the trailer of the movie, my friend and I decided to watch it yesterday night.

I am expecting a spectacular movie and cinematography but was annoyed with lots of cut and deleted scenes. (maybe more than 7 times, scenes were deleted). There were some dragging and boring scenes. The film is too violent specifically when the masked man chopped the head of the child killer. whew!!!

Well to tell you the truth, i didnt enjoy the movie for two reasons, first the huge amount of deleted scenes with no obvious reason, the second is because of the acts of some locals, though i'm local but i do despise those actions from yalling at each kissing scene or putting their legs on chairs.

but hey guess what, what would you expect if you knew that such kind of people are the ones who are in the censoring comittee.

Stupidity has no limits

ye i agree with dlightswitch (like your ID). visually, it was engaging but otherwise it was a waste of time.

No problem, I'm glad I could help.

I really reccommend waiting for the DVD, or downloading it. Much better, you will understand it that way.

The locals will not have understood it for sure. They are there just for something to do. There's a part where there is a guy who is a Dwarf (Small person), and the locals were just howling and laughing uncontrollably.

There was a lot cut out, a few sex/kissing scenes, and ALMOST EVERY scene with Dr. Manhattan, and these scenes are absolutely pivotal to the movie's meaning. It really is silly to cut out him just because he doesn't wear clothes. You don't exactly see anything, his penis is quite obscure, because of the fact that he is blue and glowing..

Im actually planning to see it on cinema today... you saved me a trouble... thanks dlightswitch..

...so I'm expecting you wouldn't understand it initially, KE, specially if not at least you had a long history of reading comic books.

Even I didn't understand the comic at first, but I got easy with the movie because I already knew the 'execution' of the comic since.

85%, I tell you, Zack Snyder copied the comic completely.

sticking your feet on someone else seat is a sign of boredom ... the movie does not worth it, I'm not getting what is all about, I paid 35 Q.R for the ticket ... Let's mess around with someone and let the front chair be my first ....

Each scene with Dr. Manhattan appears always show the penis.

Plus, sex scenes were cut.

So that's probably around 15 minutes cut or more?

You will miss the 'details' if you cut those scenes out. Not the penis...Dr. Manhattan's conversations.

But hey. Zack Snyder almost 'copied' the comic book fully...if not for some changes...

Oh. and I forgot the annoying 'behaviour' of the locals inside the theatre (putting up their feet on the seats).

It also made me think how the locals 'understood' the movie. The 'script' is veeery detailed you have to listen carefully so you can connect the dots.

Or maybe they only want to see the fight scenes in the movie.
