Yes my teeth are totally rotten and have had all my life expensive work done. I call my mouth "my Rolls Royce" But if you look at my teeth, they look good. Only I know what is real and what is not....

If you've had to visit this clinic for 17 years, then he can't be that good or your teeth are rotten :0)

Family Dental Clinic on C Ring road is the best. Have been with them for 17 years. They know what they are doing, prices within normal rates and run by American Dentist who is very concious of all health problems, safety and cleanlyness

I disagree with that.

STAY AWAY from Consultant Dental Centre.

I have been in quite a few dentists over the last 20 years and this is by far the worst one. Twice I went there and in both occassions it was horrible.

After the second treatment I was in pain for months and they failed to recognized they did not do it right. Of course they did not return the money back. I would challenge if some of the people there passed their exams to become dentists.

I had to go to back to Europe to fix the mess these people made.

Stay away from them unless you like somebody messing up with your teeth.

Scarlett,

I also thought Hep C could not be cured, and I work with it everyday! But it can be blocked, along with HIV if certain drugs are taken right after a possible infection.

Dont have his number to hand but he is located on Al Waab Street not far from the traffic lights with the boards. If heading from villagio it is on the right hand side before you get to the boarded lights.

It is a brand new surgery and they are very good.

Hey there,

Sorry for the late reply...But i just came accreoss this interesting thread and I wanted to add my two cents..if you don't mind.

Please let me introduce myself...I'm a dentist with Hamad Medical Corp. and I'm responsible for infection control in all dental clinics in Primary Health Care (Health Centres) and I'm also a member of the committee of Prevention and Control of Infection.

I agree with "sexydoctor" that HCV was proven to be excreted in some body fluids other than semens and blood, yet the fact are as follows "The average risk for infection after a needlestick or cut exposure to HCVinfected blood is approximately 1.8%. The risk following a blood exposure to the eye, nose or mouth is unknown, but is believed to be very small;

however, HCV infection from blood splash to the eye has been reported.

There also has been a report of HCV transmission that may have resulted

from exposure to nonintact skin, but no known risk from exposure to intact skin"

In general I would like everyone to know that these kinds of pathogens as HIV, HBV and HCV are best faught by prevention and taking all necessary measures for inefction control.

For further info please visit the website for Center for Disease Control: www.cdc.gov

You can also check this factsheet out: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dhqp/pdf/bbp/Exp_to_Blood.pdf

If anyone has any questions abuot this subject please don't hesitate to PM me at any time

i said hep C is transferred through bodyfluids.... and it is the medical truth...

while blood transfusion is the main reason for Hep C transfer there are other portals of transfer too...

if you are interested in medical proof for this i can give you references...

just becos you are unaware of this does not mean i have given you wrong info

Anyway he undergo treatment for 1 year by interferon (1 injection / week for 1 year) and already cured. and by the way his wife not got it.

hepatitis is transmitted thro all body fluids... not just blood... even saliva can transmit hepatitis virus... documented cases of hepatitius transmission thro sweat and also thro mosquito bites exist. we shud exercise caution while undertaking any dental/ medical/invasive procedure.

maybe i will try? Im just so freaking out over this, i have such a germ issue as it is without having to worry about hep c. I thought thou Osos that it could also be transfered over through saliva - i think when i was doing care work i got told you could catch it if someone spat in your eye? is this true too? Many thanks for the suggestions in trying to be brave enough to go, my teeth are really hurting lately! thank you again

dear charmed

Hepatitiuc C is trasfer by BLOOD only, so it may happen by blood transfer ( through operations) / using same injections (drugs) / same can happen in dentist if they use the same tools without cleaning between pations (i think this never happen now in most of dental clinics)
