Video of Saddam Hanging
A video of Saddam being hanged has been leaked! Do you think this is the real deal? Why hasn't the official video beeen released? How were they able to get this video from a 3G phone?
Here's the link to the video

and I agree with both of the previous posts.
Good on you Mstrsteve - it's reassuring to see that some Americans at least are prepared to stand up and be counted.
Only thing is - it didn't start with Dubya - have a peak at this site and you may just notice one little coincidence - all the interference in Iraq happened under republican administrations - a pox on their house!
(By the way - this guy's American also)

Since when has the execution of a top Government Official stopped the next blood-thirsty maniac from trying to attain their "master plan"? I think, ummm.. NEVER? I think this video is just a record of how inhumane the level of what's acceptable to do to other people in this world is becoming. I agree with the statment in an earlier post that this "leak" was indeed intentional. I also feel that it was not meant to deter future world leaders from making the same mistakes but rather to brag and boast. As in: "See what happens when you go against the U.S.?"
Bush is a bully who has his nose in affairs that should be left to the people concerned. Arab countries are best ruled by ARABS! They have the intimate knowledge of customs and religious beliefs that no foriegner could ever have. Let alone a red-neck like Bush.
Let's not forget where the majority of U.S. foriegn funding goes. When that country overstepped it's bounds, what did the U.S. do? Was it the same as in Iraq, Afghanistan, and others I won't go into? HELL NO, it wasn't, because the country where the most funding goes would have been the loudest voice ever crying "We're being persecuted for our religion again" on the world stage. When in all actuality, it is their treatment of their fellow countrymen that put them in the situation in the first place. If they would let certain groups of people have life's necessities, there would be no reason for the acts of terrorism they claimed to be fighting.
My point is : Bush, and his policies have made me ASHAMED to tell people I'm American. His foriegn policy is one of muscle-flexing and intimidation. I hate what he does to everything he gets involed with.

Saddam died, with the same smile, the same smile, He used, when he ruled his country.
No compassion from me.
Do not invite death by the error of your life, nor bring on destruction by the works of your hands; because God did not make death, and he does not delight in the death of the living.
Solomon Chapter 1, verses 12-13
This was nothing but a disgusting sectarian lynching.
OK - so he committed some pretty bad crimes during his time but at least he (alone) acted with dignity and I must say a great deal of bravery during this disgusting affair.
It was also victors justice. A case could surely be made for the trial of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and probably a dozen other US, Israeli and western leaders for the carnage their acts and policies have caused.
Now wouldn't it have been amazing had they sentenced him to jail and then quietly used him to reconcile the Sunnis to the Shias?
They've had their revenge - now Iraq will tear itself apart.
I was thinking that releasing of video is not good, and a very sad event happend in my own city that one child hang himself. See todays Gulf Times.
Boy imitating Saddam’s hanging dies
Published: Wednesday, 3 January, 2007, 11:01 AM Doha Time
Mubashar Ali, 9, hanged himself, while re-enacting Hussain's hanging with the help of elder sister, 10, after tying a rope to a ceiling fan and his neck in his home in Rahim Yar Khan district on Sunday, a local police official said.
The father of the deceased boy said that his children had been watching the video of Saddam Hussain's execution on television and attempted to imitate the hanging as other family members thought they were playing in another room.
"My wife and sister rushed to rescue Mubashar when children cried for help from the adjoining room, but he died due to hanging," Alamgir Paracha, father of Mubashar, said.
Police said that the death was accidental and a case of parental negligence.
"It shows that in many of his crimes some other international powers were also involved (war against Iran)(chemical weapon attack), they want to hang Saddam as soon as possible , so that Saddam cannot blame them in International court of law.
Is this analysis is right or wrong ???"
I think it's very RIGHT!!
Yesterday i was watching news from some Arabic media, a Question was raised that Saddam was guilty in killing Millions of people by generating War and given death in realatively small case (although its horrible too)
so why saddam case was not handled by International court against war crimes & why immediately he hanged
It shows that in many of his crimes some other international powers were also involved (war against Iran)(chemical weapon attack), they want to hang Saddam as soon as possible , so that Saddam cannot blame them in International court of law.
Is this analysis is right or wrong ???
I think its fine to show the video of Saddam dying. He killed so many people himself, and ruined so many families that they have a right to see for themselves that justice has been done.
will, guys the timing of execution, is not just about the man setting on the white house.as i've read the thread a lot of you suspects the white house involvement.the iraqi govt. has a very big role in it..it takes two to tango nobody dances alone....but anyway the video clips are not leak...it was intented to show the world...if you dont like my post just IGNORE it...PEACE TO ALL MANKIND....
The video first appeared on bloggs yesterday (New Year's Eve) morning.
I agree with sfd24, it's wrong to let someone with a phone camera in to record it. particularly with the taunting that was going on.
HaShMi
I am just thinking that Saddam was not a good person, but was a Brave man having brave ending. If Bush or any other cruel man have to face same ending may be died before Hanging.
I am upset by seeing the end moment of Saddam, is it right to show last moment of death. A man , a human is dieing and we are making movies, watching as film. Not so right
Rush to Hang Hussein Was Questioned
Published: January 1, 2007
...One participant described the meeting this way: “The Iraqis seemed quite frustrated, saying, ‘Who is going to execute him, anyway, you or us?’ The Americans replied by saying that obviously, it was the Iraqis who would carry out the hanging. So the Iraqis said, ‘This is our problem and we will handle the consequences. If there is any damage done, it is we who will be damaged, not you.’ ”
To this, the Iraqis added what has often been their trump card in tricky political situations: they telephoned officials of the marjaiya, the supreme religious body in Iraqi Shiism, composed of ayatollahs in the holy city of Najaf. The ayatollahs approved. Mr. Maliki, at a few minutes before midnight on Friday, then signed a letter to the justice minister, “to carry out the hanging until death.”

"So what kind of message do you feel like Bush is sending?"
I’m not good at politics. Bt I felt like its : this is our goat. The Islamic Arabic world is what we are slaughtering in this particular day. So let the whole universe witness our state of power over them. We rule and they don’t. They seem to celebrate but no it’s actually we who does it OUR way.
:(
It’s really mean.
(We hate Saddam we really do ..this is an unquestionable fact. But what we hate even more is our scientific political and economic weakness. But hope is always there that things will change like they always do over time)
*Why can't we all just live in harmony and peace together :( :( :( we should.
**Got to go now… will spend the night with grandpa so won’t be online today and tomorrow.
I thought it was Iraqi officials that made the decision as to WHEN the hanging was to take place, not Bush. Maybe im wrong.

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to buying meat.
When i was a little tacker (a young girl) my parents had one of the cows on our farm slaughtered to go in the freezer for the family's meals for months, and I became an overnight vegetarian, telling my mum she was absolutely barbaric.
but i love meat so that phase didnt last long.
Anyways I digress.
So what kind of message do you feel like Bush is sending?
"was told by a Muslim once that everyone in the family loved to watch the sacrifice. THAT is what bothers me. THAT is what seems inhumane to me. THAT is what is savage to me"
I never watched it. I't not a beautiful scene. I kind of agree with you. But it depends on what a family decides or thinks is better to them. Children , however, are NOT to watch it in my opinion.
*throw not through.
Sorry I keep editing.
Aisha....i do believe that Halal is a good way to slaugter them. I don't think it's inhumane in the fact that it hurts the animal. I think I just mean, it's hard to imagine. I am an animal lover so I'm biased :) I was told by a Muslim once that everyone in the family loved to watch the sacrifice. THAT is what bothers me. THAT is what seems inhumane to me. THAT is what is savage to me. Also, for most Americans, we do not actually view the killing of animals for food. We simply buy the meat in supermarkets. I guess this is why it is sometimes hard to imagine the slaughtering.
I once saw that ivestigation about KFC in the States. people went in undercover to the chicken plants and discovered unbelievable abuse. They had video of people kicking these chickens. The chickens are being raised for eating. Period. However, it doesn't make it right to abuse them. That's disgusting.
Aisha, I apologize for not explaining my statements better. I didn't meant to offend anyone. Oh and thank you for the article and thank you for opening my mind to the facts :)

It's just the 'message' behind choosing this specific holy day is what we are against.
"Would the date of the execution be justified if they killed Saddam with a sharp knife and fed him to the poor?"
Looool why to punish the 'poor' people?!! They should through him to the dogs instead ;-)
Oh my Goddddd so scary! How could he kill and torture so many innocent people. What kind of “heart” is his!
I hate the man. He’s was a sadistic dictator. But the timing is really bad. I mean come onnnn it’s Eid!!
About the “savage” way you talked about regarding goats. I don’t agree it is savage at all. Actually in Islam the knife should be very sharp so the animal won’t feel much pain and it won’t last but for seconds. If they made it suffer or let another animal watch it then they are hell sinners. Plus, the blood should get out of the body otherwise it’ll poison the meat (I've read it somewhere regarding the electricity shock or whatever it’s called).About our way I myself cannot watch it and no one have to. But believe it or not it IS merciful, scientifically it is.
It should be on the first day so the meat will be distributed to the poor people too and all get to celebrate Eid and eat a feast.
About Saddam, well after all he’s 'human'. Plus, it’s a message sent by Bush they is what we didn’t like.@@ you know what I mean.

Our prophet peace be upon him said “Let each one of you sharpen his knife and let the slaughtered animal die comfortably”

PEACE
Thanks Aisha, I didn't understand that it is actually the "message" that is (allegedly) sent by Bush which was the source of people's disgust at the timing of the execution.
As for myself i think its fine to slaughter animals where the purpose is to feed people, so long as its done humanely. Although I would be too disgusted to watch it happen myself.
Would the date of the execution be justified if they killed Saddam with a sharp knife and fed him to the poor?
Yea, i don't understand that. Its customary to slaughter an animal on the first day of eid...it's sad. I just don't think slaughtering animals for religous or cultural purposes is right. I eat meat and so do most other people but there are more humane ways a of obtaining the meat. I think it's savage.
It's Deanne :)
oh its sickening. Unlike almost everyone on this forum i dont claim to be an expert on politics at all, it was quite sick to watch that video.
Here's a question for the religious and political among you though. Everyone was complaining that he was killed on the first day of Eid. Why is this a problem when its a cultural requirement to slaughter a goat on this day?
It's real. It's been on the news all morning.
