just trying to clarify you with your doubts/concerns.

Even QLVG campaing was not only to supply them with cold drinks.

Our mission is to spread awareness among general public about these workers whome we normally forget in our daliy routine life.

As someone said on QL that we have time and of our own entertainment but we don't a time for these less fortunate people who are actually working for us.

With our Campaings we have been very successful. I am sure by now most of the workers knows that WE care for them, we brought SMILE on their faces by appericating their hard work and by giving aways some gifts from our sponsors.

But I still feel that there is still lot to be done in this regard... for that we need continuous support from kind hearted people like you :-)

I understand the "awareness part" which is really good and surely gona help.

I meant the campaigns QLVG started off without the QRC earlier, which were just supplying them with stuff.Anyways, I am never against, was wondering how lightly the authorities take such a serious concerns and no permenant solutions are initiated.

workers on the sites. I am sure by now there would be several dead cases.

It is not that they don't have proper arrangements by their Sponsors/ Companies. There are water coolers and other basic safety materials available on most of the sites.

But many of the workers who are working on the remote areas or on the road construction, does not have access to any nearby shops/geoceries or cafetaria from where they can buy cold drinks/ tea during their break time.

We supply them with cold water/ juice plus caps and t-shirt. As mentioned above, the purpose of our Campaing is about 'Heat wave Awareness' and to bring smile to their face. Which we have been very successful.

During the time of distribution we normally breif them about the danger of Heat Wave and how it can impact on their health and how they can protect themself by drinking lot of water and protecting themself by direct sun rays by using sun shade/ cap or cloth to cover their head.

Hope I have cleared all your doubts now. But if you have still some clarification please feel free to ask.

Speed. I would love to and had written on the thread i would, though I cudnt make it since I work on saturdays.

But that neither answers my questions nor solve the problems of the workers. That refreshes them for two days and then?.. back to the grind.

lously/speed you gys took me wrong. I appreciate and its indeed a great gesture from the QLVG and other organizations. My point was , why the heck the authorities are not doing anythng on this? why cant they instruct and insist the employer/contacting company to have a cooler /water in each site ?

True, as i said, for volunteer work please join QLVG under the management of Mr. Speed, but for Donations to contact Mr. Firas, I merely repeated what the Article said, and as had been told to the journalist by Speed himself.

It started with 2 campaigns .. but as the Article says, it then moved on to a bigger scale when we joined hands with QRC in their Heat Awareness campaign. This will go on for 2 weeks before Ramadan. We are working on getting contacts with companies directly and giving information to help increase awareness in the importance of avoiding employee dehydration... it is a First project for QRC.. and this year it is just taking off.. hopefully by next year it will be bigger and better...

Good job guys.. god bless.

Two campigns and some chilled water on one or two days in a summer helps? doesnt it require more from the part of the authorities? Cant they insist the companies to have enough water/cooler facilities in all the sites?
