Unaccompanied children on Qatar Airways
Hi, any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated.
I would like my kids (ages 10 and 11)to come for a holiday here in Doha and the easiest way to do this would appear to be to use the Qatar Airways unacompanied minors service (other option is to pay two return tickets for ex-wife).
Has anyone used this service and would it be safe/not too stressful for two confident boys, both fairly experienced flyers.
Also does anyone know how they would pay for thier visas (too young for credit cards thankfully)
Thanks in advance
Paying for Visa on arrival are only available to some Nationals only. Ex. Canadian, USA and etc.
After making reservation you must mention to the reservation agent that these reservation are for UM (Unaccompanied Minor). The person that come to pick these kids up at the airport must sign for these kids and must also provide some identification.
Airline do take this very seriously, so don't worry about it. The airline staff will take a very good care of your kids.
Also don't forget to mention at the time of making reservation of any special needs that your kids may require. Like medication, allergic to any specific kind of food or any other special request.
then you can pay for the visas at this end. it's what I did for my whole family.
Veni, Vici, viva.
be worth contacting Qatar Airways to see if they can obtain a visa as part of the package.
When we were in Oman my friend send her 6 years old son home using Gulf Airlines. and the boy's grand parents are waiting at the other end for the Stewardess to hand him over.
I'm sure it's the same thing to bring them here.
Try contacting Gulf Airlines as long as there is someone on the other end for your kids to be endorse to a Stewardess. Get them a visa first before you bring them here. I think you can get it on line depends on your nationality.

and send them the copy.
Judge not! that you be not judged!
I guess Qatar Airways takes care of kids...and why dont u get them accompanied kids...that way they stay with one of the crew full-time...and then when they get here...i guess they can buy a Card at the airport whcih they can then use for the visas or else i dont know whether cash is allowed...if it is then they can pay cash for visa on arrival...
