When you need a break, an escape, or just a true sense of peace, then you should make your way to the Spa at the Intercontinental Doha.  With the spa offering a luxurious, yet warm atmosphere, one would be hard-pressed to find a similar experience.

You are then guided to the privacy of your massage room, where you are treated to a complimentary foot-bathing ritual.  This sets the tone for a period of relaxation and helps you slowly detach from the outside world and enjoy the world of the spa.

The spa rooms are adorned with fabulous light fixtures and colored lighting to produce a soothing effect.

The new spa at the InterContinental Doha it’s equipped with 16 luxurious treatment rooms fitted with highly exclusive products such as heated sand massage bed, Quartz bed, and spa wave bed. Guests will also find facilities such as manicure-and-pedicure studios by Bastien Gonzalez, a private indoor swimming pool, healthy juice bar, relaxation room, sauna and Jacuzzi - all meticulously put together for guests to experience lavish pampering like no other. 

 Exclusive European products such as Baija Paris, Natura Bisse, and Intraceuticals are used for holistic wellness and beauty treatments available in the spa.

The treatments

For Her

During my visit, I knew I had wanted a facial but decided to leave it in the hands of the therapist of which one I should try.  

After telling her I was looking for a relaxing experience/face cleansing, she advised I try the Citrus Vita-Essence facial.

This was quite the indulgent treat! I was basked in beautiful citrus scents while the facial consisted of a soothing massage and an array of rich products.

I have relatively sensitive skin and was pleased that I did not experience any breakouts or irritation in the days after the treatment.

After their spa treatment, guests are treated to complimentary warm tea or cold pressed juices.  Considering it was mid-afternoon, I selected the fresh juice and it was absolutely refreshing.

Guests also have free access to a beautiful tranquil swimming pool and sauna room.

In conclusion: it was an experience of pure and utter bliss, certainly not a treat to be missed

For Him

After the tour of the amazing facility I am introduced to my massage therapist who escorts me to my treatment room to enjoy a 30-minute massage and a 30-minute facial specially designed for men. 

I start with the Muscle Reviver; this massage is perfect to release tension related to headaches and neck strain. It is a soothing, neck, face, back and stress releasing scalp massage.  My therapist starts by kneading my back with long soft strokes and I start drifting away in a matter of seconds. In less than one minute I know this massage is what I needed after long hours at the office 

He then proceeds to lean on the heels of his palms and applies soft pressure onto my back muscles and then kneads my back with his fingers. This technique goes on for more than 10 minutes. I am incredibly relaxed and enjoying every bit of it.

After I finish with my massage I move on to my Express Facial by Natura Bisse which is designed to renew and maintain a healthy complexation on the spot. He starts by cleansing my skin with a toner, to then proceed to exfoliate my entire face. This is followed by a face massage. To end the facial, he applies another toner and a moisturizer with SPF50. I must admit my skin looks radiant right after.

It is important to have facials because a facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and make the skin look younger.
