If your tv is vaulable, you might as well bring it. Almost all modern tv's come with pal, ntsc 3 and 4.

It would definately work. Your only question is power. Is yours dc converter in house or exterior cased and can it handle 240v.

i believe most can, therefore if your tv is high end. bring it, if not then sell it as the wouldn't be worth it.

Customs is a bit anarchic here, when you send your stuff make sure they are well package. people on either end dont really pay attention to fragile stickers.

Upon collection, just bring your airway bill and a independant agents are there (for a small fee) who will do all the paper work for you.

Hope i've helped.

TVs and DVDs and video games are PAL here. But I have an NTSC XBox that works without a problem (using NTSC games -- and there's even one shop that sells NTSC games).

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why it works...

I don't agree that electronics are cheap here compared to Canada. I would say they are more expensive, or equal at best in some cases.

I would not bring a car from Canada. You would be better to buy a car here as the Air Conditioning Middle East specs. You will probably regret it becasue the car will be too hot to sit in in the summer and as Margaret07 said, you may have overheating problems. Importing a car is a lot of hassle and paperwork, they are fairly cheap here and you will avoid the problems. Why spend the money and go through the hassle of shipping it here, just to potentially ruin it????

If your TV has a dual voltage button on the back, you can probably use it here with and adaptor, but you need to check that it is dual system as well, as the system here is the opposite of Canada ( can't rememenber which is which, but one is PAL and the other is NTSC. Whichever Canada is, Qatar is the other). Again, electronics are relatively cheap here compared to Canada so for the cost and hassle of shipping one from Canada, I would suggest just buying one here. To give you an idea of what oyu can get for how much go to

I'm not an expert but I don't think there are many Audi's here. You might have a problem with servicing. I don't know a thing about shipping a car and no one I know from Canada or the US shipped a car here. I'm told a lot of North American cars don't do well here and tend to overheat.

The TV systems are European, voltage is 220. DVD's purchased here are Zone 2. North America is Zone 1 so your DVD player would probably not be compatable. You can buy DVD players here which will play both Zone 1 and 2 DVD's though so you could bring your DVD collection. I don't know of anyone who brought a TV system from North America. I don't know if this helps.
