Tribute to Lady Di

Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts,
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.

You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
and the stars spell out your name.

And it seems to me you live your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.

And your footsteps will always fall here
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burns out long before
your legend ever will.

Loveliness we've lost
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.

And even though we try,
the truth brings us to tears;
all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years.

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with sunset
when the rain set in.

And your footsteps will always fall here
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burns out long before
your legend ever will.

Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts,
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.

Goodbye England's rose,
from a country lost without your soul,
who'll miss the wings of your cam passion
more than you'll ever know.

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with sunset
when the rain set in.

And your footsteps will always fall here
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.

A GREAT HEART WAS GONE TO EARLY.MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.SHE LIVES FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.

Charles may not become King. It is quite sure that the queen will die a queen and unless she becomes severly ill or die, so Charles has little chance, not to forget he married a divorcee and is divorced himself.

No matter what is, or was said about Lady Diana, she gave the Royal Family a great deal of positive PR she always represented Britain in a graceful manner.

The one who is never mentioned and who has and still does the most for charity in the royal family is Princess Anne.

May Diana's soul rest in peace

good article - I like Germaine Greer, she never flinches from opposing the politically correct.

Maybe Charls would be a good King but his Flair and his Charisma will never be the same as the Queens or Dianas one.And not to forget Queen Mum.So we will keep having an eye on William.

yes, PM, but he is not really popular with the British public or the media and that could do a lot of damage to the Monarchy and it's future.

the awful thing to add to the tradegy of JFK. Jr was that his wife's family lost TWO daughters that day as his wife Carolyn Bessette's sister was also flying with them...

I remember the Cuban Missle Crisis only too well and I was just a little girl at the time. We lived in north Texas and they were pointed directly at us. I remember having stuff in the trunk (boot for you Brits!) of the car, wrapped in foil, like they told us to(LOTS of good that would do against radiation, but hey...) so that we'd be ready to hightail it out when the missles were launched. I also remember the day JFK was shot...mom still has the newspaper.

Yes, that is true, Scarlett...now everyone is pinning their hopes on Prince William to 'save the monarchy'. But Prince Charles will be the next king. Their is no way, imho, that they will 'skip' a generation.

I've often thought abut what JFK would have gone on to do...

the untouchables as Diana did

Hello Scarlett, just wanted to say that the other significant members of the royal family in the UK work hard with public and charitable engagements. Day to day schedules are posted in certain newspapers in the UK.

Diana got much more coverage in the media because her image sold more copies.

unlike the rest of the royal family. She walked the mine fields, played and hugged with the AIDS children and worked several charities. Personally, don't know if I'd have liked her or not had I met her, but she certainly opened up a can of worms that needed to be released. Its tragic that she died the way she did. That tragedy reminds me of John F Kennedy assassination...they both died too early and someone else was definitely behind the scenes on both.

I met her and was impressed by her energy and dedication to charitable works. She was quite the giggler and had everyone in her presence laughing alongside her at times.

A tragedy that she died like that.

I was in Paris when she died and London shortly after and the air of stunned shock and sadness was palpable.
