The hotel rates in Qatar starts from USD 100.00 (3 Stars Hotel) and up (with no limit) the 3 stars hotel is not that good, but u can stay in Ramada, Rydges, Marriot .. starting from USD 200.00/room, yet u can't stay with ur BF in the same room, u have to be married.

If u r willing to stay for a long period (about 1 month) u can think about FF Flats, rate will be much lower for 1 month.

I was booking a hotel to one friend recently, that is why i knew this,

hope we can meet.......just kidding!!!

You can be with your friend/boyfriend male in a restaurant, dance with him, hold hands. All the above is no problem.

Wanna dance and drink? No problem. Not sure about the karaoke though but there are several nightclubs.

Women can and do smoke in cafes, nightclubs, pubs, whatever.

What do you mean by bar happenings? Some clubs have special nights; ladies' night, dance competition, etc.

You can swim and drive, too, if you so wish.

Enjoy your time.
