Tottenham sack Ramos for Redknapp
Well the inevitable has happened and our "Arry" is in line to leave his beloved Pompey for the bright lights of London..
What say you ????
Tottenham Hotspur are set to appoint Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp as their new manager after sacking coach Juande Ramos late on Saturday night.
Spurs have agreed a compensation package of £5m with Portsmouth, according to the 61-year-old Redknapp.
Tottenham also axed sporting director Damien Comolli and first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez following their worst ever start to a season.
"It's a big opportunity to manage a big club before I retire," said Redknapp.
Redknapp revealed Spurs contacted Portsmouth on Friday morning, and after discussions between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie, it was agreed he could talk to the north London club.
"I've had a great time at Portsmouth and we've had an unbelievable, successful time over the six years I've been here," Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"But Tottenham made a fantastic offer to Portsmouth and it was difficult.
"It was a lot of money - I think £5m, crazy money, really. Pompey couldn't sell a player in the [transfer] window so we sell the manager."
sack Jol after a few games last season, sack Ramos who actually one a trophy after a few games this season. Pay Jol lots of compensation to leave, do the same for Ramos and then pay Portsmouth 5 million for Rednapp. In any other business the GM would be getting the sack....
I think Arry will get them going. Spurs have a good squad. They are just lacking heart.
Perhaps now Levy will move away from the "continental management" experiment and allow the manager to be boss..
What a supprise when i looked on sky sports today, as a spurs fan, it is great news for this season, but long term, not sooo sure, but watch this space eh!!
Looking on the spurs forum, some poeple hoping he brings jamie along with him, but dont know if ye noticed, every time he has been on sky sports, he never has had a good word to say about us the last 3 years, so hopfully he will leave his son to change nappies at home with Louise!!
Jermaine Defoe yid you know...will he be back in January, what a move that would be, hes spurs through n through, this would be perfect for all concerned, give us a bit of heart that is missing in the spurs squad, and some of them goal things that we have been forgetting to do the last 21 games.....any way, watch out Bolton, here comes the SPURS TRAIN BACK ON TRACK!!!!!
c'mon ye spurs!!!!
