Doha Toy-Town, was a beloved indoor play area preceding the indoor play areas in the malls. It was commonly referred to as Sanaa. It was favorite of all local children.

The Qatari government built Princess Diana a house for a visit that did not end up happening.
Msheireb was the original heart of Doha, and it is currently being rebuilt.
Msheireb, was the first place in Qatar to have electricity.
Dafna, also known as the West Bay area, used to be completely under the sea. Dafna's actual meaning in Arabic means the buried - because the sea was buried with sand etc to build the tower scene.

they used to put up a mini theme park with fun/extreme rides, mini restaurants and bazaars along corniche during eid holidays.
There used to be an Aladin's Kingdom, which used to be the best and the most favorite spot for the kids and adults alike, the roller coaster being the ultimate entertainment! But now, that's all gone, and other hotels and ventures have been built up in its place. The mini cafeterias in there used to serve some good hot snack to savor too. Miss that place very much!

There used to be an palm island with a Hotel in the Corniche, which they demolished before the West Bay picture took place.
