Saudi Arabia dismiss second coach in nine days

Defeat to Japan pushes Saudi Arabia to dismiss their second football coach in nine days

Doha: Saudi Arabia dismissed their second coach in nine days as the three-time Asian Cup winners suffered their biggest defeat, 5-0 to Japan on Tuesday, before making an early exit.

After the team's opening loss to Syria, Portugal's Jose Peseiro was sacked and Nasser Al Johar took over.

However, the Saudi national could not lift the team who lost their next match to Jordan 1-0 and were routed 5-0 by Japan on Tuesday.

Earlier in the week, the Saudi Football Federation President Prince Sultan Bin Fahd also stepped down following the team's defeat to Jordan.

Firing Peseiro after one loss wasn't the greatest of decisions. It showed signs of panic, the next coach was always on the way out after the disastrous showing in the next 2.

For them it does not matter if the coach has spent fifty years in training or world famous professional.

What they cant stand is the difeat. If effort and money cant buy victory, reasoning does not stand a chance. Poor coach....
