A "terrorist act" caused damage to a Japanese oil tanker M. Star in the Strait of Hormuz last week, the coastguard in the United Arab Emirates, where the ship docked for repairs, said on Friday.

The main aim of terrorists is to spread fear. By destroying a tanker in this region under the noses of the Western military, they will achieve that aim..

Unless they trade in stock markets.

I don't understand what are these morons going to gain by blowing up an oil tanker? well apart from the fact that the Western oil companies lose millions of dollars in oil wealth, the consequences will be high, extreme level of water pollution.Masjid Al-Aqsa and Palestine wil not be liberated in this cheap manner.

Xena, where does "thinking" come in when it comes those creatures ?

They are obviously not particularly blessed when it comes to the act of logic or thinking and all else that involves using ones's brain.

'to avenge the plunder of Muslim wealth and to destabilize international markets.'

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100806/ap_on_re_mi_ea/tanker_explosion

Now, isn't this a bit of a dumb move on the part of these Al Qaeda militants? Since if there wasn't a sale of oil to foreign countries (international markets) there wouldn't be any Muslim wealth worth plundering?

I mean come on... who thinks of this stuff?

By Xena• 7 Aug 2010 02:35

yip... seems like it was terrorism... I think it was some kind of affiliation to Al Qaeda that took responsibility...

I figured those pictures of the 'mess' hall weren't the act of a collision....

I thought one of the articles I read said Al Qaida claimed responsibility, but I couldn't tell you which one, I read so many online papers. Didn't know the tanker came from Qatar. That's a little scary.

drmana, Al Qaida told they were responsible for the Attack just a few days after it happened The Oil Tanker came from Qatar and was on it's way to Japan.

mikaylasmom, you were correct.

BBC news says:

Two days ago, an al-Qaeda-linked group said it was responsible.
