Assange case: Sweden's shame in violating human rights

A senior Swedish judge has said that the sex-crime allegations against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange are "a mess", and praised him for leaking classified US documents.

Assange is wanted in Sweden for questioning over criminal allegations made by two women. However, he says the allegations are a ploy to get him to Sweden from where he would be extradited to the US.

He'll be thought of as a person who made public some pieces of classified information to the benefit of mankind," he said.It should never be a crime to make known crimes of a state,'' he added.

Sweden is a highly developed social democracy that has many guarantees of civil rights and liberties to its citizens. The people of Sweden should not allow their government to continue to disgrace itself in another international governmental crime - this one a pernicious attack on freedom of expression - simply because Washington wants them to do so and become another puppet and satellite state of the americans

And Britain extradites to the US all the time (and vice versa).

Assange just thinks he's to pretty for jail and is afraid to face Swedish justice of all things. What a coward.

You said it so well. This guy is certainly not a terrorist for the americans to be chasing him around and using their puppet client states to grab this man

and I thought that Sweeden was a free country but it now looks like along with the UK it is acting on behalf of the americans to harass and intimidate Julian Assange and the funny thing is that the Australians whose citizen Julian Assange is, is acting like a dumb and deaf spectator

Toting the Assange propaganda line I see.
