Subaru Anyone?
Hi. I just moved to Doha and I am interested in buying a Subaru. I've owned 2 in the past and I simply live them. Great cars! I am however concerned that the resale value may not be that high for these cars in Doha. What I've read in this forum as well as others indicates that Toyota or Nissan is the way to go in Doha. Any comments from anyone who's lived here for a while?
My car is Subaru forester Its an Amazing car High performance
Subarus are great, STIs have insanely high retail value here, at least double the price they are in japan. Even now i am looking at the 2010 WRC STI Spec C Limited (only 998 ever to be sold). 30000$ usd delivered to my door in japan. For that price I cannot get a 2008 STI, base model in Doha. My v6 1999 WRC RA neurnberg STI i sold in japan for under 10k, i came here and got the base model export edition 2000 version (sold here as a 2002 bugeye), for double that, and i get offers for it every day. The problem is parts. OEM parts are impossible to find and 10 times what they are in the US or Japan. I always order 2. And this heat kills every thing, wheel bearing, sensors, etc. I love my subaru, so this is the price i have to pay, lots of planning and try not to break it too often.
ur rite bt u dnt really knw history of subaru in 1984 subaru relase hatchbak model called SUBARU SRX 1600cc with TWIN STROKE TWIN CARBRATORS its even leave bk 1993 crx nd car like it have DOCH TWIN CAM cars we have it in year 1995 in QATAR here bt now days its hard to find so at all SUBARU r f9 cars but u have to maitian it on time all cars like tht service it on tym u nvr get to watse on it nd parts of SUBARU r FIRE in QATAR not in other country like europe so all tht means SUBARU IZ MADE IN JAPAN and it ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSS.

you know the e90 the 335ci ( the twin turbo ) had a price tag of around 240000 riyals!!! at alfardan, now its in his house, its the only one in qatar, at least for now. in the US the car starts at 150000 riyals i wonder what its price would be in lebanon with all the taxes
some correction....e30 not e34 or e36...ok maybe thats is the opinion from bimmer expert...but for me e30 is the very best of m3
I have an ancient Crown Victoria (1997). Does anyone know somewhere I can get it serviced (wheel bearings, oil change, lube, fluids etc) for a reasonable price and good quality workmanship?
The e36 was a disappointment, especially in terms of handling! That was the universal judgement by all the motoring journalists who drove it!
The only disappointment in the e46 is the steering. It's less communicative than I'd like.

I have drive both e34 evo m3 (two doors) & e46 m3 (both is my friends car)...in terms of power output definetly latest model have more power, but the way of handling and conering ability i still feel e34 is better....i'm not really sure about the model (e34)..forgive me if i'm mistaken...
The e34 is not a 3 series. the M3 started as the e30, went on to the e36 and currently the e46 whose production ceased a couple of months ago. Next is the e90. The e34 was the 5-series produced from 1988 to 1995.
Have you even driven both or read the reviews as a comparison?
Impreza has the best melodic sound from the engine...even Evolution doesn't have any idea how that sound come out.....
For the M3 i still like e34 more than e46...i think e34 is better than e46...
Akina 'the GTi R3 proud owner'
I knew that would get a response ;)
M3 is definately a better looker (and has nicer specs on paper) but the Subaru is a beast!
I've seen one STi in Doha.
As for the M3 eater bit, here's a comparison.
STi details
Engine: Turbocharged Flat-4
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 300(224) / 6000
Weight lb (kg): 3351 (1521)
Acceleration 0-62 mph s: < 5.0
Base Price: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi - $32,995
M3 details:
Engine: Inline-6 (normally-aspirated)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 343(245) / 7900
Weight lb (kg): 3415 (1550)
Acceleration 0-62 mph s: 4.8
Base Price: 2006 BMW M3 Coupe - $49,595 / 55,100 €
STi is no doubt a screamer, but I'll take the M every time.
The only Subaru that interests me is the Impreza STi (the M3 eater!) but unfortunately they don't sell it in Qatar. One salesman told me that it was banned over here but I'm not sure!
Subarus are good cars but have terrible resale values.
If you are going to buy and keep one for at least 3 years then by all means do so.
You could still sell it on to the right person for good money but that really means you could well be stuck with it for quite a while. Don't look for a quick sale.
