Spoiled products in Carrefour
Hi guys,
Few days ago I bought 2 boxes of Swiss Muesli " Simply Cereal" Brand from carrefour. I opened one of the boxes today and found insects in the cereal. Obviously, this isn't the first time such a thing happens in Carrefour. Everyone remembers the rats case that was all over youtube at the meats section.
Anyone has any idea where to contact to report the incident? ministry of health any govermental office. I've kept the boxes closed untill I figure out what to do with them. I'm sure if I call Carrefour CLient service or management, the case will be closed and silented and the products might or might not simply be removed.
Regards,
greetings

Stone Cold: Thank you for a sane argument
go straight to baladiya office.. obviously, they didn't learned their lesson..
They should be held responsible although the product comes direct from the manufacturer. If you said its in a pack seal box, then nothing that they can do about it other than return back for replacement.
Any boxes/packets left in your cupboards will get insects - muesli, cornflakes, rice, flour, sugar. Stick it all in a plastic box.
SAMAEL - he had bugs in his muesli, not rice or flour. you don't wash muesli and put it in the sun before breakfast, do u?
Lebguy - that's the new muesli with added protein. also available at carrefour is swiss mite cheese. lucky you got the bugs free. in bangkok you have to pay street vendors for this delicacy.
Well said SAMAEL, and good advice.
Dude it's just Weevils, get a grip lmao, they get into anything and everything.
i always put my cereal box in a big ass zip lock the moment i get it home, same with rice and flour. They can be on the shelf one night and attract them.
With rice all isn't lost though, just put your rice on a plate. and put your rice out in the sun for a little while, and they scram, wash rice (which you are meant to do anyway) and cook away. Flour and all that is more tricky though.
Don't blame carrefour for the existance of bugs.
Unless you let me blame Megamart for the existance Prostitutes.

next time, after you open the product and find something that is not suppose to be there, take a picture of it for additional evidence.

why people go nuts on bugs been in rice or flour or what ever wheat product. dont you guys see how humid and hot the weather is in this part of the world???
ooghhh people common get a life and stop trying to be perfect. bugs found in müsli, simply return it and get another one without bugs or get your money back. where is the problem here??now ql became health ministry or commerce ministy? grrrrrrrr. get a life for god sake.
i ve been away from ql for over 1-2 weeks, now i just got to log on again and all i get to read is about bugs been found im müsli!!grrrrrrrrrr
action speaks louder than words
they may charge u the extra meat !
I've had rice and flour containing bugs from every supermarket in Doha. It doesn't matter how much you pay for the product, it's simply a lottery.
One time, I opened a bag of flour from the old megamart at landmark, and the whole thing was crawling with baby roaches. It was like stepping into a horror movie.
I say, take a picture, put it on the web. It won't achieve anything, but at least you'll be able to share your feelings.
bad or good publicity... the issue is... it's a PUBLIC TRUST...just like what i had experience in this shop. because i was in a hurry catching up time
i never knew those milks i took on the shelves date of expiration is about to expire on the very next day! i just realised it when i got home while organizing my fridge. so STUPID am i never check those expiration dates.. wasting my time and money of going back for a complain is not a better resolution fot such issue... nor an EXCUSE for the public's health...
I been here almost 2 years and finally saw a spider the other day...Other than that nothing...Never seen any bugs in the food??? Shop at the Center...

go directly to Carrefour and fill a claim form.
I think it will more helpfull than to claim by official ways.
They will change your product, they will apologize. They investigate the issue and probably they will retire the product and get them back to supplier. And they will do in shorter time than ministry.
This is very bad publicity for the company and they live of their reputation.

it's like rice when you washed it you will see sometimes multiple-legged insects

If we don't put our cereal in a plastic container it always gets insects in it. Same with flour, rice etc.
If the product is not "Expired".... I think Carrefour cant be blamed

I don't think you can blame Carrefour! Do you think they opened the boxes and put the insects in there?
