Something to let u know

It was shocking to see the thread (although closed) on lebanese guys and girls.

There Asamarji speaks abt the success of lebanese and all that. Firstly..speakin abt one country's self proclaimed superiority is stupid. Yet...since u raised this topic in a mature lobby like this..i wanna let u and the ppl in here know this.

This is what happened to me.

I can a bit agree with ur statement that Lebs are toppin in some Manegerial positions (just here)..Now the reasons for that...Arabic speakin abilities n all that. I guess my friend like Vasquez gave u a good piece on that already in ur thread.

Now let me tell u something else.

I was working for a project at one company which had the top floor filled with lebanese managers and the floor below with mostly asians who were actually expediting the real work.

It was the time that there was a major earthquake in Pakistan and the Paki watchman had already lost some of his family in it. He was gettin started to leave. By that time we started collecting money for him such that it could be a bit useful for there burial.

I started collecting the money and when i went to the first floor..The Lebanese big bosses gave me a real surprise. Most of them were giving me 10 QRs whereas an Indian Office Boy donated 50 QRs (thats pretty big money for that fella )

I could not belive my eyes. Since I was just doing a project I just collected what they gave me and went out. The Paki watchman was in tears when I handed him the collection and he thanked me and left.

Months went on and war broke in lebanon..and the bosses above now started collecting it my way. They came to the floor below and asked me donation. I dropped 50 QR and this is what the manager said to me "JUST 50 QR ?? Miser..Stingy man...What can a family do in 50 QR ?"

Now I was bewildered. But I din wait for a min. I told him that if he knew that 50 QR can't help him..how can that 10QR help the Paki watchman. He became aware that he was in the losing side and started shouting "You Asians....we dont need ur money...we can manage ourselves and he through my 50 QR onto the floor and left"

Asamarji...Comment now if u r somewhere ?

Do u know my lebanese consultant always refers to me as ENGINEERING ?

The first conversation with him..."Hello..Am I speaking to the new EngineerING ???"

I was like..."What the f@$k ??" I thought he was trying to be cool with me...but in every meeting he calls me MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (My Apologies to Carnot, Carrier and Henry Ford...coz they were the fathers of Mechanical Engineering and they did not have this privelege)

Lolzz.

Did you hear the word saying: IT'S BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE?

Help for the needy, instead asking for more in return, god will find a way to give you more blessed and helped that you hope for. If you're not willing to give, then god is not willing to help you in return, if you help, do not doubt so in return in will not come back and haunt you.

Those guys like the one mentioned watchman, he worked so hard for his family, a little help will make it more happy not for his self but for his family as well. If you are unwilling to help better SHUT YOUR MOUTH than saying more "GIR-GIR" hehehehe.... (do not offend). Im not so mean with this but yeah some lebanese pretend to be smarter but when i correct him this way (read this message)

can you tell me what is the difference between ARCHITECT TO THE ARCHITECTURE? I have found that they may be pretending like a manager itself but when it comes to correcting their "Profession" you will see how they really know what they are you know why?

I have been doing a quotation under his project, under his name i have put his profession of INTERIOR ARCHITECT and you know what? he corrected me as well in a wrong way i told him and explained to him the difference of architect to an architecture. He told me, why i have put the interior architect under his name instead of interior architecture?

in reply to his query i answer him this way:

do you know what is architect and architecture?

ARCHITECT - THE PERSON WHO GOT LICENCE

ARCHITECTURE - THE SUBJECT YOU HAVE TAKEN DURING YOUR COLLEGE YEARS

But instead of saying thanks to me he insist me putting the INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE under his name and keeps on saying i put interior architecture for every time i need to sign.

So not to mention all lebanese i would might say stop pretending you know everything if you don't know and recognize your position when someone corrected you, you must be thankful enough because you have been corrected by someone who knows much more than you do. (this messages is not to imply to everybody - just a heartfelt i have when i corrected him) PEACE.

I hope that my friends here do not think I am some racist...coz thats the last thing I want to be called. Please bear in mind that this thread was begun coz I was bewildered by Asmaraji's thread on Lebanese So called Self Proclaimed Superiority.

I just want him to know that people are people and he who realises Human Fraternity n Equality...has realised mankind and its wisdom.

OH MY GOD...WHAT MAKES ME TALK LIKE A PHILOSOPHER NOW...IS IT MY RAMADAN HUNGER ??? Lolzz....Cheers people !

You can judge from this fact that untill the 70's the labanese would not like to b bracketed with arabs(becoz arabs had no money at that time). I guess thay r like everybody else.....here to make a quick buck.

Your generalizing...get to know them, they are nice people. The way people point fingers at certain nationalities is disgusting, and just plain racism.

"You're just jealous of the Lebanese, because they are smarter and better looking then everyone else on the planet"

It's the attitude of the Lebanese in Qatar.

So are the Lebanese Europeans? I thought they were Asians!!!

I suppose they think that way because of their skin colour?

Is it so?

Just a doubt

well most are very nice, I have met a lot of good people and also have a few lebanese friends.

I agree and it has always been my opinion, you have good and bad in all nationalities. You will always have one bad apple which gives the rest a bad name.

Peace bro.

I've spent months in Lebanon and found them to be rather hospitable, friendly and sweet. Yeah you get the occasional arrogant one, but where in the world don't we?

this is a very eye opening story but somewhat intriguing..but i believe to Happy HAppy said, that not all lebanese are like that. it all depends on the person itself, and not on the race or whom you came from.. but about the story, that Big bosses who give you 10QR and ask for 50QR! damn him a lot and a lot! why should he use words like "asian!" dont he know that "asians" are the most hard working here if you compare to others who just sit down if there is no bosses around.. (this is bit true, but i dont generalize.. ok)

By Happy Happy• 22 Sep 2007 19:43

That manager shouldn't have commented on the money you donated. You would've refused to give any amount in the first place!

I still don't want to generalize that all Lebanese are so cruel and arrogant. Hard to judge whole nation based on a little non-representing sample.

But, it is a very bad disgraceful experience. You must've felt awful afterwards.

I’m sorry!
