10 Best Things To Say If You Get Caught Sleeping At Work

1. "They told me at the blood bank this might happen."

2. "This is just a 15 minute power-nap like they raved about in that time-management course you sent me to."

3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the White-Out. You probably got here just in time!"

4. "I wasn't sleeping! I was meditating on the mission statement and envisioning a new paradigm."

5. "I was testing my keyboard for drool resistance."

6. "I was doing a highly specific yoga exercise to relieve work-related stress. Are you discriminatory toward people who practice yoga?"

7. "Why did you interrupt me? I had almost figured out a solution to our biggest problem."

8. "The coffee machine is broken ..."

9. "Someone must've put decaf in the wrong pot ..."

AND THE BEST OF ALL:
10. Raise your head from the desk and say " ... in Jesus' name. Amen."

Can you add more??

Work is like a game!

When people play games, they keep score. And when they look at that score they know how they're doing - whether they're winning or losing. If they're winning, fine; if they're losing, they need to adjust.

"People want to see how much they can keep pushing, how much they can improve. They like to look where they were a month ago and see how much progress they've made. To use a golf analogy, they want to get their "handicap" down. They want to improve on their performance. And the great part, as I see it, is it's not just a matter of 'How much am I getting paid?' but 'How fulfilling is my job to me personally?'"

So it doesn't mean you are doing a great job when you managed to utilize all your working hours at work, when you are not being productive at all... its useless.

When you feel you've done a good job for the day, you can release your tension by stopping by at QL ;)

you are preaching to the indoctrinated. :D

I was taught at school that even to scratch my school desk was stealing, let alone the graffiti and vandalism that goes on these days!

I don't think children think that way nowadays and it continues into their adulthood.

When I was about 20 I was working for a man who went CRAZY at me one lunchtime because I made a cup of coffee using the coffee and milk he left out for us to have at coffee break time. He read the riot act at me, informing me in no uncertain words, that it was HIS coffee and milk and I had no business to use it for my lunchtime drink.

Quite took me aback, I can tell you!

I sort of agree with you there, but there's no fun if you can't sneak a wee bit of a laugh whilst at work otherwise you end up with miserable employees and a rapid turnover of staff if you are too strict.

However, having said that, I would never DARE get 'caught' playing games or chatting on line when I was at work, even if I had time on my hands. The important word in that sentence is in the 11th Commandment.

No 11. If you break all of the above, make sure you don't get 'caught'.

:D

I have long wondered where I could get a job where the management would allow me free access to the internet to play all day! Or even for PART of it!

However, I'm a firm believer in that old saying:

Hard work never killed anyone, but why chance it?
