Sick!!

I don't come here much, but I'm surprised there's no thread about the news on CNN today... 2 different family murder-suicide

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/10/07/mother.killings.kentucky.ap/index.ht...

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/10/06/california.murder.suicide/index....

I can't even imagine what was going through the minds of the victims. Everytime I read such news, can't stop thinking about families who can't have kids, or don't have food/medicine, etc.

In the US and pretty much across the western world (where the ideology of capitalism/democracy) is implemented there have always been huge problems related to societal imbalances. Why? Secularism cannot solve mans problems..it like the system of capitalism/democracy are full of holes, contradictions, injustices that cause huge problems for society whether political, social, economic or otherwise....

I am afraid I disagree to agree with you. This is not sick. Unfortunately, this is a result of a capitalist system that touches a lot of people. How many of us have felt the pressure of work and financial crisis. Some of us go mental with acute depression.

I feel so sorry for a such a big waste. The guy had self pride I suppose. Before he gets into severe depression and start to lose the respect from his family he took such a road.

May be, he would not accept defeat after studying for so long and get a job at PWC.. He'd rather end his life(which I don't condone) and that of his family instead of going down on his knees and beg. There must have been alot happening to him.

I can't say it is sick. It is very unfortunate and sad...very sad indeed....I guess he is from an Asian community. Among educated asians, the aim is to reach the top and what most of them don't do is try to find out how to cope when there is a fall in status. Status means a lot to some people: Asians, Japanese, you know...
