Shipping A Minivan from USA Qatar

I will be relocating to doha with family( 2 kids) Â in couple weeks from USA and thinking of shipping our 2005 Honda Odyssey Minivan. The cost for shipping is about USD 4,000 plus all the hastle with paper work. The car has about 8000 miles and paid about 26,000 USD in April 2005.

Relocating on a "indefinite contract employment" with QPÂ

Has anyone shipped a car reclently to doha?
What is the process?
Is it worth it?
Should I sell it in the USA and buy new one in Qatar?
Does anyone have an idea about cost on Honda Odyssey minivan in QAtar?

Yes I would appreciate checking on the price

We live in the Miami area and it get hots and humid here too albeit not as much as Doha

so I would think that car in this part are/have been tropicalized

First I'd suggest you contact the US Embassy in Doha and the Qatari Embassy in DC for info regarding procedures and advice.

Cars sold in Qatar and the other GCC states have (theoretically) been "tropicalized" to meet the extreme heat demands, so take that into consideration.

I can check on the price tomorrow if you like.
