ah, well if you get a day pass or if you are a member, you also have access to sharq village's private beach and pool. you'll definitely need this in this kind of weather!

the membership is 2k for joining, and 13k annual for single...and 3k joining, and 18k annual for couples...they also offer family membership for 3k joining and 22k annual.

i think the couple is a really good deal, so if you have a partner, definitely go for it!

-6 guest passes annual (10 for couples)

-one complimentary treatment

-free fitness assessment with personal trainer

-15% OFF TREATMENTS

- 10% discount when renting villages

- 10% discount off personalized wellness packages

- 10% off consultations with practioners

- 10% off retail items

- 10% off rental of ladies majlis (WONDERFUL NICE CHILL-OUT)

- 6 complimentary treatments annually (10 for couples_)

- access to pool and beach at sharq village

-all members invited to attend annual members party

i'm just typing this off the brochure i got for single and couple membership

For those who are asking about membership... for SINGLE, its QR 17, 500.00 for a yr. For COUPLES, its QR 27,000.00 for a yr. Membership will give u access to use facilities such as the fitness center, aerobics classes, yoga classes, steam and sauna, plunge pooss in the villages and hot and cold tubs in changing rooms. Also discounted rates for massages with complimentary treatments and friend access. There are 2 main entrances--MIXED or INTERNATIONAL and LADIES only entrance. For more info, call mr ziad at this number 6256999. Thats all i know for now. And the swimming pool in the hotel is open for hotel guests only for now coz they dont have changing area for public YET. And no kids below 17yo are allowed in the spa. Its a place of tranqulity and relaxation!

i had a huge argument there you know! Paid something like 200 QR each for brunch and when i called to book i asked if that included use of the facilites and they said yes! Five of us went ate the food and then went out to use to pool and they wouldnt let us! I couldnt belive it i was arguing with them like crazy about this for ages, got a discount but i so wont be going there again i think there rude and arrogant and nasty!! Thou Sharq rocks! But still no one has called me to join sob!

i had a treatment there in the spa and it really was excellent, my mum treated me it was called 'la stone therpy' and i would recommend it to anyone. they gave me a reduction on the price as well not sure why though :S maybe because it was just newly opened. but yes it really is amazing there, i loved it because everything was so new and untoched.

u should definately get a membership there, but it sure will be pricey. it is much much better than the four seasons they are very rude and ignorant there. i once had lunch there and after we had finished i decided to take a stroll on the beach..after about 10 seconds [literally] the beach guy came up to me and was like 'room number please..?' and i was like 'yes i had lunch here i just want to walk on the beach' and he was like 'sorry mam u cannot do that'

its only sand for crying out loud...

TheSix Senses spa in Thailand costs 500 USD per day for visitors. they have the Six senses spa in Al Sharq, memebership will cost you 18,000 QR, but it does not give you access to the pool in the hotel, in order for you to use the pool , you will have to pay a total of 23,000 QR. I think 23,000 QR is too much for Al Shraq. Not worth it.

I went for a tour on Thursday and the place is really really nice. From what I gather because the hotel and spa are operated by different companies you will need to get 2 memberships. One for the pool and beach club (Hotel) and another for the spa (gym). In saying that the spa will be open to anyone on a pay as you go basis. Even if you take the membership the treatments are not included - you will get a discount though.

Tghe membership fee sounds about right 18,000 but there is only a 7,000 registration fee (if I remember correctly)

Beautifully done and once fully open will be the best place in Doha by a long shot. The spa is not open yet. I had a tour of the place and they are doing a "soft opening" and they are on target for opening in about a month's time. I think it will be very expensive though.

Still with any luck members will be able to run into cool people like Cutesrk as I have been told many Brits will be joining.

i cudnt resist the temptation... drove down to Sharq with my wife.....what an experience....

we felt pampered... very good PR, good customer service and very friendly staff.

the place is the best in Doha so far. the spa is real good.

the ambience and architecture is amazingly enthnic arabian...

awesome is the word

the front office manager walked us around the facilities and we saw the massage rooms with in built plunge pools steam and sauna rooms.... amazing is the word.

we wanted to sign up atonce for membership but we were told they havent finalised the amount as yet...

he says they would finalise the membership fees very soon and he wud get back to us...

i wud whole heartedly recommend the sharq to all readers of QL...

If u wanna be pamperef then Sharq Village is the hot spot now...

( though you wud get the same facilities at half the price in dubai)

A friend of mine was visiting this week and stayed there. He was told the membership is Qr 16,000 (or maybe 18,000. Can't remember. He told me yesterday).

Crazy!

I loved the hotel itself though. Amazing place and service.

Service is like at the Ritz because it's being managed by the The Ritz-Carlton. Should cost a tad bit more because it's still new.

And the private suite which you can hire with its own pool and waterfall!! Oh i could go on and on about this place!! And the best thing is it doesnt feel snooty like the four seasons does! Heaven!

Well I think it's that they just opened and things are still a little hectic. It's a beautiful hotel though isn't it.

i will start taking it personal if they dont call me back!! I guess turing up, driving my beat up dirty red car and parking it next to all the posh cars in the car park kinda made me stand out in a very bad way!!! lol!!

The spa and things won't be open till mid-April. I was talking to some staff there and the they want to be the most expensive place in Doha, so I'm going to say not cheap.
