Can you imagine such cruelty ???????????????

A schoolgirl was blinded by a teacher who inserted a pin into her eye after she failed to answer a question, it was claimed today.

The man, known only as Parasram, went on the run after allegedly attacking Sweta Patel, six, at private school Shishu Mandir, Jurali, India.

Police said he would be charged with attempted murder when he is finally caught.

The incident happened in November but it is believed the teacher attempted to bribe the girl's family by giving them money for treatment.

Her parents finally went to the police after medical tests revealed she would be permanently blind in the right eye.

'It is a very inhuman and brutal act,' a police spokesman said. 'We will take strong action.'

'The initial inquiry shows that Parasram inserted a pointed pin deep in Sweta’s right eye when she did not reply to a question in class asked by the teacher.'
Sweta's father Devi Prasad Patel described Parasram as a very aggressive person and said he had made life hell for his daughter.

The government said it will bear all medical expenses and asked the police to step up its search for the teacher.

India's school education minister Brijmohan Agrawal, termed the incident 'a blot on the teaching community.'

I think the government only became "active" when the story came out..

There are too many such cases and this needs to be addressed..

"an eye for an eye".. same thing should be done to him as well as punishment so that he'll know how it feels.. the nerve of him for bribing the girl's family with money to make up for what he's done!
