Just read the news on the front page of the Gulf Times. It claims that the club is facing possible eviction as early as may this year.

the land belong to JBK? (I remember seeing him when Princess Ann laid the foundation stone for the DIS junior school in the DC grounds). He was a little diminutive) I know he passed away years since and assume the land passed to his sons.

....It will all depend who owns the land.

Humanity is simply a parade of fools....and im right at the front twirling the biggest baton anyones ever seen.

but I guess the landlord could make it impossible for them to operate normally and then they would have no real option to leave. I understand they want the land to build villas on. It makes commerical sense for the owner but bad news for Doha College and the other expats who use the recreational facilities

If the club have a lease on the land until 2011 as claimed, surely that will be legally binding.
