In Abu Dhabi that is .. :O)

It seems that the place is booming. Does that mean Dubai is turning around also ??

Reflecting the strong appetite for luxury goods in the oil-rich emirate, Abu Dhabi was the second-biggest market in the world for Rolls-Royce vehicles in the first six months of the year, according to the emirate’s local distributor.

Abu Dhabi Motors revealed that there had been a 200 percent increase in Rolls-Royce sales during the first half, in comparison to the same period last year. However, when contacted by Arabian Business the distributor said it was Rolls-Royce’s policy not to reveal the number of actual cars sold.

The dealer attributed the high increase to the arrival of the new Rolls-Royce Ghost and sustained demand for Bespoke Phantom vehicles. The richest bespoke specifications in the world are sold in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, the car dealer also reported a 38 percent increase in sales for BMW, and Abu Dhabi recorded the largest number of BMW imports in the Middle East region during the first half. Abu Dhabi Motor’s MINI sales saw a 13 percent rise.

“Our tremendous sales growth over the first six months of this year that has made us the highest volume seller for BMW Group products in the region is largely attributed to the company’s quality offerings and the dedication of our staff during a busy period which saw the arrival of six new BMW models in our showrooms,” said Arno Husselman, general manager of Abu Dhabi Motors.

200% may look like a large number. But, think of it this way, they sold 2 last year and this year they sold 4, that's a 200% percent increase. But, if in the year before that they sold 4 and this year they sold 4 then its a flat growth.

Like with all numbers, the devil lies in details.
