Ramadan Care Packages for Labourers
The Holy month of Ramadan is in full swing with Muslims and Non Muslims alike according to the due respect attributed to it. The spirit of Ramadan is of restraint, sacrifice and caring. GOD (Allah) is not keen to keep us hungry but this exercise has been planned to shake our conscience to develop realization of lending a helping hand to those who are less privileged amongst us.
It is with this purpose that we thought of making a contribution towards humanity by organizing a community event which would help us to lend a helping hand to those who really need it. We all are witness to the fact that the laborers working in horrible summers of Qatar are the most hardworking class and yet the most underprivileged. It would thus be a way not only to provide them with some basic amenities of life but to show our gratitude to the efforts put in by them.The aim of Ramadan Care Packages is to give these men a gift of dignity to show them that even though they are away from their families,there are still people who CARE.
We have identified few labour camps that would benefit from our initiative and if the target is overshot, we might include few more labour camps in our plan. Initially we plan to generate around 200 Ramadan care packages each costing merely a contribution of around 200 QR. Imagine making a difference in some one’s life for an entire month with an amount which is less than a dinner meal with our family.A package will contain
One month’s ration
Toiletries
Bed Linen
Misc Items Demandes by Labourers like Prayer beads, prayer mats etc.
Details of items will be furnished upon request.
You are requested to deliver these goods to us latest by 16th of Sep or you can give us an amount of QR 200 and we will send you an original receipt of all goods purchased from your money. We plan to develop the packing and delivery of packages as a community event and so an early delivery of goods/money will help us to arrange the event in a proper way. We plan to do that on the 18th of Sep starting from 0800 hours at Al khor community for Qatargas and RasGas. The event will be held at Al Waha Club’s Ramadan Tent. Everyone is welcome to attend it along with their children as we all want to develop love for humanity in our children and by helping elders in packing they’ll feel proud of their contribution in this noble cause. Owing to the sanctity of Ramadan, we won’t be able to offer refreshments to participants but children will obviously be looked after. You can deposit these items maximum by the 16th of August at the below mentioned addresses:-
