A Quick Guide to Canada according to Youtube
Canada as defined by YouTube
Canadian identity is a tenuous beast at best. Probably why the singularly most quoted icon of Canadian is a beer commercial:

That should tell you a lot about us.
But what else makes Canada? Well, we’re huge. Like, seriously big. If Russia keeps falling apart and the French decide they’re ok with us, we are like ridiculous compensating for something Hummer Big. In fact, there are songs about this:

But still, what IS Canada? Is there something like ‘Canadiana’? Do we have the equivalent of smelly cheese or apple pie or warm beer or lederhosen and a penchant for world domination?
The answer to that is no.
What we do have however, is a passive aggressive politeness (we’re nice, dontcha know ;)).

Oh and abiding hatred of Toronto. I’m from Ontario so I’m allowed to say that.

We also have police officers in goofy hats. They’re called the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or the RCMP.

(added points as this was actually a TV show called Due South)
Then we have the cuisine. Canada is a multinational country where it’s a quilt more than a melting pot- you won’t find a culinary goulash here, no, instead you’ll get distinct cultures and food choices all over the country. But what unites us all? Poutine.

(yes, that is a dancing poutine).
But when it comes down to it, what really identifies Canada?
The Beaver.
A proud and noble animal! So say it with me now, Canadians and Canadian-wanna-bees: WE ARE THE BEAVER!
Gotta love the song about Ontario Sucking (I'm an upper canadian and i admit this!)
