if the question is for the kids to enjoy.. beleive me u will enjoy teh Nintendo Wii in terms of play- ability... it was real fun ..interesting is the fact that the way Nintendo created the game play was amazingly fun..try for a demo..

im an xbox 360 fanatic..as i own one myself on full HD..

but i raise my hand for the WII for the fun and excitement it provides for the family... not so good graphics though...

but for the kids...ill spare the graphics for the fun and laughter you can get...

I too have a Wii and it's the best games machine I have ever had. Recently received Tiger Woods Golf 2008 and once you get into it it's great.

It does meet the needs of kids (that's why I bought one for myself).

The grandkids in Aberdeen have one and we can communicate via the net. It's very simple to connect to the internet when you are using wireless.

Have a pop down Virgin and compare the amount of games available for all systems. The 360 wins hands down. And I have a PS3 too, but there are not enough games out yet.

My Mate has a Wii. I think they are good but not sure if the novelty will wear off. Depends how old the kids are, and what games they are into. Nintendo tend to have more kiddie orientated games.

360 At the moment is the best option and once you have played online which is VERY easy with the 360 you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

I have a Wii, an Xbox and 2 DS Lites. I'm no fanboy of any console as I also owned the PS1, which to me, spearheaded the next gen console gaming right after the NES.

Anyway, for me, it's not about the computing power of the console which makes me want to buy it. It's basically for the games, the fun and entertainment it brings you. Forget about the blu-ray of PS3 or the HD add-on of Xbox 360 as they are both crap. Compare them to stand alone (google it) players and they suck big time in terms of output. It's all about games. Definitely, PS3 (as well as the PSP) has more in store in terms of games (mature games) vs. the Xbox 360 as you can really count the good games lined up for the 360. The Wii is a league of its own as it caters more to kids and adults who wants to enjoy playing with friends. There are more party games, cutesy graphics, and Mario, Wario, Donkey and Sonic. Nothing can beat it in that aspect.

As a suggestion, get a DS Lite. If you have 2 kids, get 2 of them so they can play with each other. Just bought mine a week ago and wifey and I are addicted to it (playing Elite Beat Agents, Cooking Mama,Mario Kart, Brain Age, New Super Mario, Nintendogs, etc...). I'm sure your kids would enjoy it too. The good thing about it is that you can buy a special gamecard and place all the DS games you want along with a 1 GB card and play them without buying another QR130-225 game. Great for kids and adults. Lots of fun, great brain and puzzle games too.

as the poster above mentioned if your kids are preteens.. then the only selection is wii... its more of a family console than anything else

but do not buy a ps3 ... not for the next 2 years anyway... the ps3 has a more powerful gpu but alas its more complicated, its more easier to make scenic games on a 360 now than on a ps3... meaning the games looks better on a 360 than a ps3... moreover, all the games from the 360 are being ported over to the ps3 and hence they are not optimized.. in a year and a half games developers will start harnessing the powers of the ps3...

If your kids are less than their early teens, I would go with a Wii all the way. All the accessories w/ PS3 and XBOX 360 are really geared toward high end gamers and younger kids don't mind the graphics quality...they want fun. Wii has a better selection of games that appeal to younger gamers. I find I can play more with my kids using the Wii versus intricate button combinations on PS3 / XBOX 360 games.

My kids want to download old Nintendo titles off the internet versus buying the latest game on a PS3 or XBOX 360.

Well, .. XBOX 360 crashes a lot. It has major issues with overheating and Hard Drive problems. My friend got 2 so far and both of them died on him. Some of the exclusive games for XBOX 360 are nice, but what is the benefit if this console will die later.

PS3, the graphics are nice and the games are good. We are talking about Sony here, but still not that much of games in the markets.

Wii can bring fun to all the family, personally i got a Wii and I know that the way you play the games on the device is simply crazy, but this is what makes this device amazing. It got a motion sensor so if you are fighting with the sword you should swing your arms like a real fight. It applies to other games too such as the sports games like Bowling or Boxing. After five rounds in Boxing I felt down like if i was really fighting. It is really so funny and nice, some people unfortunately thinks of the console as a silly way for entertainment and sell it back later. so sad to me it is the best gaming console among them all. The level of the games is more suitable than the PS3 for kids. One more thing, online gaming on wii does not need a subscription like the PS3 [for online gamers] :)

Best Regards

I'm not worried about the cost as (a) it's a long-term investment/buy and (b) the blu-ray player in the PS3 alone is worth the price tag.

A standalone player will cost $1000.

I was thinking in terms of the kids. I'm a PC gamer myself.

No way XBOX.

nintendo and sony are great manufacturer of game consoles and microsoft also with their XBOX 360

difference.....

PS3- has built in bluetooth and a giga bit ethternet, and has SD slt card and compact flash memmory also with 20 gb hard disk, but the new release it hs 60 gb.and can play MP4 format of video, with 802.11g,wi fi.and expensive.but the graphic resoulution is stunning.

Wii- it cost you $250.00 with built in wi fi.no bluetooth, it has SD card slot also, can display photos, but the DVD drive cant play movies,(nintendo is working for it)....

if i were you,if PSP is much expensive for you,go for XBOX 360, that is the best option for a good budget...

note: the advantage of WII vs PSP3 is the zooming properties that PSP has none...good luck.....
