QTEL unable to resolve my ADSL problem

Hi,

I am not getting intended download speed. I am getting one-fourth of the speed I have registered for.
QTEL is not able to resolve the problem. Whenever I complain, QTEL technicians visit my home and confim that the problem is at QTEL side (may be at QTEL exchange) and they are closing the compliant without resolving my compliant. QTEL technicians checked internet speed with their laptops and they also tried to change the Modem and they tried all the options at my side. Nothing worked !!!

I have even personally visited QTEL office couple of times in Al-Saad and complianed. But there is no use.

Is anyone experiencing similar problem with QTEL ADSL ?

Thanks ...

accordin to your subscription you should get 1Mbps download speed. If not then contact Qtel. But it's sure that you will never get more than 1 Mbps when you have 4Mbps ADSL.

It's normal ratio all over the world.

lighted a cigarrette (although I did not smoke it), open a can of beer (did not take it also) and put on my boots, but the ADSL is still slow? Did I miss something? Lol!

BTW to te OP, how much you pay for your ADSL (actual if it's sharing)?

I lost the hope. Its a personal connection used for only one computer. I have a 4 MBPS line but I am getting 700 KBPS download and 400 KBPS upload.

I have been suffering for last one year with this internet problem but QTEL is unable to resolve it. I have raised many compliant but no use. The QTEL technicians are closing the compliants without resolving. When asked, they are saying there is nothing that can be done at client side because the problem is at QTEL side.

I am fed up complianing.

I am paying QAR 450 for landline & 4 MBPS ADSL. Its mere waste paying for pathetic service.

Anyway, let me wait for couple of days.

Thanks...

may be because they are all sleeping during the day and eating all night and there is not enough labor on the pedal bikes to keep the mega bytes up at qtel internet HQ?

I was cut off for 5 days untill more laborers were taken on to pedal the stationary bikes and get the mega bytes up again so I could check my mail.

maybe the heat and humidity is tiring out the system..

Mine's crap too and before anyone says it's normal, it's only started being rubbish in the past few weeks after they cut me off for 2 days for no reason. I so miss my UK broadband :-(

according to me nothing wrong with Qtel. If you subscribe for 1 Mbps then you will never get the same speed during download. You will get only 1/8 of your total speed while download. It means if you have 2 Mbps ADSL then you will get 256 kbps while download. It's normal matter.

switch off your laptop, have a cigarette and beer and then reboot.

Speed depends on the number of PC's connected to the system and also the distance form the nearest exchange.
