QP Induction

Evening QLers:)

Just wondering if there was anyone out there who had gone through the QP Induction in the last couple of years?

I know we are staying in Doha for a couple of nights to sort out Medicals etc.. but what about the rest of the time in Doha before we get shipped to Coventr- whoops, Dukhan?

Guided tour, package holiday or fly drive? .. Do we have time to ourselves or is it all supervised?

Thanks in advance..

I doubt very much.

Once you get to Dukhan and as Molly said, there is lots for the kids to do.

I just checked.. my Medical was in March!! Jeepers.. where does the time go? lol.

Is it exactly the same - just as thorough? Oh noooo, I'll have to bring out the seaweed and spinach smoothies again...;)

The twins are pretty beyond excitement at the moment- and have absolutely No concept of time.. they want to know how many more sleeps.. (I've started counting but I'm not telling Them!)

Hopefully it will be really cool for them..might take a while to settle them but then I'm sure I'll have to drag them kicking and screaming from there for vacations:)

Thanks a million :)

if you came for the interview/medical less than three months ago, you don't repeat the medical here. I interviewed in December and didn't join until a couple of months ago so had to have the entire medical again. I think Dukhan is great for kids! You will love the couple of days of good food and a nice hotel to stay in. This is something QP does well - making the first few days pleasurable. Good luck to you and your family and get in touch if I can be of any help.

Cheers,

Molly

That's awesome, thanks:) I don't think it was more than 3 months ago but it's a good job they weren't testing the capacity of my memory;) Will have to check back.. I was under the impression that we have to have another Medical anyway..

Cash and buffets... I like! This sounds great.. will be good to have a bit of time to get bearings etc.. (and some much needed sun!)before heading off to Dukhan.

From what I've heard, Dukhan seems ideal for me as I have young kids. Starting to get exciteeeed now:)

Thanks again for your help:))

so can tell you for the first two days you don't do a whole lot, go to Medical if it needs redoing, i.e. did you have your medical more than three months ago? You also go to HR to sign your contract, etc. They will give you some cash at that point as well...transportation takes you back to hotel where you eat the lovely buffet three meals a day for 2-3 days then they will take you to Dukhan. I think Dukhan is a lovely little town and I go there weekly for my job for a few hours...not much excitement but a real sense or community that I like. Hope this helps.

I realise that during a normal working week this would be the case.. just wanted an idea of what the first couple of days would be like in Doha?
