Qatar's short space is further facing the burdon of abandoned and new cars

Easy car loans, being allowed by the banks in Qatar, are virtually choking the roads of Doha.

More than 100,000 new cars are being financed by the banks in just a year alone, according to an estimate.

On top of it, with no car recycling plant in the country, the country is virtually litterred with the unrepairable abandoned and dirty cars.

There is a need to put up an export company that could reexport the abandoned cars or their spare parts to other countries, which a step would help reduce the burdon of cars on Doha's already short space.

Moreover the Banks should be asked to cap or put up an annual limit for car financing, so that new glut does not happen on Doha's roads.

Yes, Omar, you are right. People are forced to buy cars, out of no choice.

Qatar has a limited space, it may have to ban the street parking, soon, if this phenomena remains unresolved.

I am confident that a good public transport network will solve this problem. I can;t wait for the railway projects to finish. Most people have no choice but to buy or rent cars at the moment.

Yes, compactor is a good solution and so is the selling of auto scrap to metal and steel companies overseas.

So what you're suggesting is that we "export" these wrecks to africa so they can repair and use for themselves ?

Wouldn't it be easier to build a compactor - scrap the cars ; compact them and sell the metal

If used clothes and shoes can be exported out to the needy countries, why can't the cars, buses, trucks, vans, heavy equipment etc.

Imagine, if the cars are exported out to Africa, a culture of re fixing and remodeling of cars shall come out, alongside good job prospects for African youths.

A re-export company can clear up this mess from Doha's streets, and it should happen before WC 2022, when the camera mounting media shall be roaming and roaming the Qatar's streets and roads.

Banks are banks and lending is their business_ right.

But lending in any country is bound by essential sect-oral limits, like, for agri 20%, for real estate 25%, for Industries 10%, for auto financing 10% because no bank and country can afford to take lopsided lending risk only on easy auto financing. If the auto sector drowns, the whole bank and country could also drown, as a result.

And these limits are also in place in Qatar by the Qatar Central Bank, however the limit for auto finance needs tightening.

I've never seen a car recycling plant .... As far as anks are concerned .. They are a business , not a charity.. Would you request that a grocer stop selling vegetables or Rizks only sell a set number of Karaks in a day because the disposable cups are a health hazard ?

All we need is one electric furnace , that's all .......... The problem is businessmen are somewhat lazy on the subject although raised from time to time by the deep thinking people like Equi ........ We need 1 cunning guy who would be making min. 50% profit from the melting process .........
