‘Qatar must train its young citizens
DOHA If Qatar does not resolve to prepare its young population for leadership roles in the private sector, then the country is going to face problems in the future as competitiveness is all about people, not money or big GDP growth, says Tommy Weir, the managing director of the Beirut-based EM Leadership Center.

He speaks the truth because he wants Arab Muslims to be the best they can be. It's sad that many don't want that for themselves.

Good One.. There should be another 10,000 Qaradawi's around GCC to help fix things out with the people and the government. Easy said than done. But then these single Youtube video did not find its intended target, means that not even one of these guys have the ability to read and take interest.
Johnpur,brilliant,but will they listen,in Shala........
:)
i very much doubt the youth aren't competitive. i regularly visit the malls and observe how many of the youths are contributing to this country.
if for one minute i noticed that a youth wasn't competitive, albeit when ordering their KFC, or comparing watches and cuff-links, i would be writing a letter to the government seeking action.
the reason we don't have many uncompetitive youths is simply because we don't have an unemployment office here, nor would i want one.

because I never mastered the "early rush". Like real life Yankees the terrans were undefeatable once you developed them big battleships with upgraded cannons.
I remember this old game: "Starcraft"
1)The enigmatic "EURO"Protoss have access to powerful units and machinery and advanced technologies such as energy shields and localized warp capabilities, powered by their psionic traits. However, their forces are slow and expensive to produce, encouraging players to follow a strategy of the quality of their units over the quantity.
.
.
.
2)The "ASIA"Zerg possess entirely organic units and structures, which can be produced quickly and at a far cheaper cost to resources, but are accordingly weaker, relying on sheer numbers and speed to overwhelm enemies.
.
.
3)The "USA"Terrans provide a middle ground between the other two races, providing units that are versatile and flexible. The Terrans have access to a range of more ballistic military technologies and machinery, such as tanks and nuclear weapons.
.
..
Each race relies on two resources to sustain their game economies and to build their forces: MINERALS and GAS. Minerals are needed for all units and structures, and are obtained by using a worker unit to harvest the resource directly from mineral nodes dotted around a map. Players require gas to construct advanced units and buildings, and acquire it by building a refinery on top of a geyser and using ..."expat"- worker units to extract the gas from it.
.
.
NO MORE GAS??? = INVASION!!!
.LMAO!!!!!
Learning and knowledge. The basics of real development. Now materialism is more the focus. it will change though. It wil have to..

Knowledge is power, someone needs to tell these young Arabs..
Drac the quest for knowledge among arabs went away the same time the oil money started pouring in.
" Dont take life too seriously, you will never get out alive!!!"
The man is being honest and he is on the point.
Oil is going to turn into a huge problem for Middle East in the future.
Everyone there is financially rich but only a few seem to be mentally wealthy.
Why, in the past, when Europe was nothing but a dark hole, muslim scholars and their contribution to science was at its maximum.
They practically pulled Europe out from that hole.
Now with oil money, Arabs have their religion and money and not much else.

from a slightly less obvious ad for yet another bulls**t ripoff "higher abstract education" scheme to another round of crying foul at GCC policies. I don't get paid like a Qatari. I don't expect to. Their country, their hydrocarbon resources. What's YOUR oil doing under THEIR sand? Think about it and quit crying. All of you wouldn't get the kind of pay you have here back home, so it is decidedly ungrateful on your part to constantly bitch and whine about their policies. Don't you worry about them...they lived a simple life for centuries, we can doubt some of their logic, but even then, only in a benevolent, advisory manner.
The problem in GCC country is that they give a special importance in all aspects of life to their citizens like free education, medication, land / shop ownership etc
.
Like we all know that an expatriate working at a position for the last few years is equal to or less equal to that of locals
.
In Qatar, MIN OF LABOR has forced all major money making industries to hire more and more qataris regardless how much they feel responsible towards their jobs, eagerness to improve by not repeating same mistakes, punctuality and giving certain extra time inorder to complete their daily task. We asians have to even complete their leftover tasks too along with ours which is totally injustice and cruelty towards us. Still they get almost double salary compared to us working with them at the same position but for the last many years
.
If local GCC govts enforce equal treatment with their locals then only they can work as hard as we do but due to their pampering, locals are just greedy to have more and more money and luxury life instead of concenterating on QUALITY OF LIFE.
by the way Qaradawi delivered his sermon. Although am not muslim, but I prefer this kind of preaching. It speaks right to the heart of everyone listening.(hope so)

I think Gulf countries are starting to change and see the value in better educating and training their citizenry. Unfortunately, they still do ridiculous stuff like give them a salary for going to school, giving them an exhorbitant salary when they're a beginning employee, etc.
They're still stuck in the "carrot" mentality, and I think it's hard to break away from that once you've started that pattern. People will expect to get something in return, rather than simply having some internal sense of satisfaction and having that be enough of a reward.

Tommy Weir only wants to advertise his leadership center. Qatar can do without prepared youth. All they will need are Landcruisers and petrol. The problem only comes up when Toyota stops producing Landcruisers due to environmental concerns. That's gonna be a disaster.
our youths are the hopes of this nation.
