Is JIHUA some kind of an Indian word?

By CYman• 14 Aug 2007 19:10

as I repeatedly posted on this site, it has helped me tremendously to know so much about life in Qatar long before I stepped my foot in this country. Btw, I had to go through all the crap and the silly messages that (usually the regular members) post on the forums. After I became a regular and lived in Doha for a while I realised that people here are sooooooooo much bored and pissed by the lifestyle here, that they need a relief valve. Well, for some of them QL has become THE relief valve.

All in all, I still find QL an interesting place to hung around as long you are living in Qatar (it is of zero significance the day you say goodbye for good to this country)So many more interesting things to deal with elsewhere.

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

JIHUA- means the real incarnation of almighty in whatever form, here to save us and pardon us for all our sins, whether it is Allah, Christ or in some other form. I am neither an atheist nor a believer.

You missed the point I was trying to make! Well that thread remained unanswered for quite sometime. If not me, someone else has definitely had a look into that thread and left it unanswered.

I wouldn't say its our job or a duty to respond to each and every query thats posted on QL. But I guess the answer that you are looking for is that maybe everyone should be a little more responsible and perhaps try to give an appropriate answer.

there you are! :o) Hey what is J.I.H.U.A? I do cryptic crosswords and it's driving me crazy not knowing lol.

Re real probs. I guess those are posted in the specific forums under, say, 'setting up home', 'how to get a visa' etc. In the which case usually some of the members who have been around Doha for a longer time will check out those forums and try to help.

Like I said, a lot of those people are on holiday now and so answers to queries may be a while coming - either that or just no-one knows the answer.

It's important to put the question under the correct heading in the right forum because if it's in this 'general' one a person is less likely to get a response, since most are here for the lighter side of QL.

Gawd - my brain is beginning to hurt lol

I don't really know what comment you are talking of about 3 guys taking on 1. But if you are referring to Canarybird. Well everyone had their fair share of fun at her expense.

Atleast, much later though, I did admit openly that she was right in putting her point and it was a mistake to get on her case. Perhaps, Martin got a little excited too soon.

Moreover, I am here for fun, I've this before as well. I don't wanna goto sleep thinking what the other guy must have said about me and log on QL first thing in the morning to check that. Trust me I wont lose my sleep over QL problem. If a person hasn't got b*lls to defend himself then he'd rather stay quiet and be a silent reader or look elsewhere for a shoulder to cry on.

Mate - nothin personal - drink a coke and chill in the boiling summer out here.. :-)

Looks like I touched a nerve out there.. :-) Relax..

As I had replied to you then - was new to the place - was testing the waters. No harm in giving feedback - its just at times some of the comments dont sound quite friendly! Thats it.. take that as a friendly feedback. Generally people dont mind being picked on once they are in a comfort zone. But again - it varies.

In my case - I just dont care when people try to pick on me..

I guess the essence of this tread was some thing on the same lines - so no harm in sharing other personal exprience out here.. or do we need you approvals for that also ;-)

But yalla - getting back to the topic of the thread before Rayyz gets cheezed off again - Manja - agree with you this place is really worth it an hats off to the guys who run the place :-)

Whats a Jihua anyway? Tried looking up my e-dictionary and the google as well. Couldn't find anything better than a province in China!

I second to what Jauntie says, at QL we try to help people with queries in general. Latey, many queries have not been restricted to life in Qatar alone. We've had people asking about suicidal tendencies, depression in life, what is difference between lust and love and so on.

But at times when there isn't much to offer or no genuine threads to post into, we get down to chatting with our QL friends who have also ended up becoming our real life friends!

I also admit the fact some people treat QL as their on property. But QL is a wonderful facility which is a solace in need, which permits us to share our problems, get solutions even a place to advertise. Sounds like some of the QLers are on a ragging mode! It normally happens in college or universities by the seniors ON the junior..

I am quite new - just over a week in this community. Did not face any issues - I guess they choose on whom to pick and not to pick?! :-(

But I can very much understand the feelings of the newbies who get snapped at or teased at...And oamonteiro's comment - "Here now some members act as if this is their own domain n all out to shut new comers out." I guess the trend can be seen in some of the threads with some of the QLers with rude and unfriendly comments.

I guess - those who get offended - just ignore them and try to look out for the good guys n gals here. I can see that there a lot of very friendly and helpful QLers.

I think, like I keep saying, that at the moment it's the 'silly season' and lots of the regular interesting and witty posters are on vacation so there's no balance.

I only got back late on Sunday and so far I have noticed a few newcomers having the mickey taken out of their questions and general assing about going on. Hopefully it will settle back down, usually does.

Couple of the threads were deleted today so I quess Admin thought things were going a bit over the top too.

Not sure what those initials stand for, but I guess you are asking if QL supplies info to people either coming to Qatar, or already here and need to know something about the place.

I believe there is a 'signature' of what it tries to be when one logs on. I'll go find it ...

Meantime, I would say QL is a community which has built up a reputation for having members who have been in Qatar for a while and are willing to help anyone who has a question about life here and is one they can answer - or it gets debated.

Not an encyclopaedia as such, more a friendly, fairly knowledgable community.
