Today on Eid Ul Azha at 01:30am It happened amazing at our home. We were having BBQ at the roof of our house that all of sudden we saw 8 to 10 vehicle of Fire-Brigade with huge Siren and lighting. They were with high speed even not taking care of the humps. We started dua that Allah (Subhanhu Tala) save the effect-es of house having fire. The Fire Brigade personal were searching here and there to find the exact place, me, my brother and wife of my brother were also searching the location from the roof top. But after one or one and half minute all the vehicle came towards our house. We hear knocking at our pent house door. In the beginning I was worried a little bit by seeing well equipped force but both the team and we started laughing at the same time (after searching the area). They told us that some one call us for the fire on house. There was actually no fire but the caller misunderstand and the smoke which he saw was actually BBQ smoke. We became very glade by their behavior, attitude and quick response. Today we got the real life example that this way the people says Qatar is best place for living. Qatar is best and definitely Qatar deserve best. Live long Qatar, Live long Qatar Fire Brigade.
@Molten who did say that the caller was drunken?. It was just misunderstanding. And starting of this thread was just to educate some how the people, "how to respond in the case of emergency". Even the caller did wrong but it was intentionally that is why I appreciate him.
Emotions has no place with police or courts ......... People see a lot of TV & do childish things ...... imagine if there are 11 more fake ' callers ' in Qatar & they decide to act at the same time ...... one can see full fire dept. vehicles with hooters on all over Qatar ........
Kudos to the fire brigade authorities indeed! As for the caller he/she did what they assumed was right on impulse. Perhaps they should have attempted better to verify first but who knows? In cases of fires many times the terrible calamities befall very fast and the caller would have known that even five minutes spent trying to verify could be a disaster so better get the professionals involved. Why assume them to be drunk and the likes? Suspicion can truly be an evil thing! The caller ultimately only intended good for their neighbor. Better to be them than those who turn a blind eye on the pain and suffering of others!
Ejaz Bhai, Drills are done as per their own schedule, not on misinformation-incidents like this. Go to their accounts dept to see how much money was wasted by responding a false complaint.
We are observing , what will somebody get by blaming ?
The caller did nothing wrong that he should be blame but we should appreciate him for doing so. It was also good for Emergency Personals, I think it was a kind of drill for them...
The caller had good intention and as such authorities will never jail such a person. Regarding the question of IF Qatar is a small country and they are well equipped with Manpower and equipment's.
That 'caller' should be held responsible for wrong info & misleading authourities . It was 'caller's' very dangerous step with extreme consequences for fellow citizens. He pulled out so many vehicles & personnel from Fire Dept for nothing. Had there been a real fire in other places how do the Emergency Depts will respond with the remaining forces ?
I know it was a misunderstanding from a person whose intention was nothing but good. What I lament is the response from some of the users who are so eager to jump the gun.
The Call might not be drunken but he might have misunderstand the satiation.
1 to 2 minutes before the event I heard some continues horns I look through the roof a black Chevrolet or GMC pickup(Mini Truck) on the road with nothing in his way. At that time I thought that he might be
drunken(My Miss understanding). When I watched him from the roof top he left after 5 to 7 seconds and I again joined my brother. Then after 1 minute I saw the emergency horns and fire brigade sirens.

T C, you see even Ejaz also thought that there may be an alcoholic angle at the beginning .......... that's common .
If he was a kid then it's another point. You will never see a woman making this kind of mistake.

@ Molten Metal

@t_coffee-or_me... Hahahaha, this time it was misunderstanding but the caller will see the real fire on a house but will not call.
Basically the caller was at his best that he called for Fire Brigade. We should also appreciate him for doing soo..
LOL @ "next time they may not respond to the same location thinking again for BBQ"
Emergency personals are not so shallow they have brains in situation on CRY WOLVES SITUATIONS.
The caller had good intention and as such authorities will never jail such a person. Regarding the question of IF Qatar is a small country and they are well equipped with Manpower and equipment's.
Better safe then sorry.
Mast, You point is very much valid. That will set a foundation of distrust in the public { look from the emergency dept's view } .
Caller needs to be fined by a minimum of 12500 Qrs. plus atleast a 4 hours of lecture at a high volume sound system ......

@ t_coffee_or_me. It was just misunderstanding.
Sorry (What we should when we smoke??) Actually the Question was "What we should do when we see smoke?"
Why some people are so quick to JUDGE.
Good you guys are not JUDGE, JURY & EXECUTIONERS.
What we should when we smoke??
Well done to the fire brigade..
Next time they should be more quick. It is also a kind of drill for them. And we should also appreciate them. but the caller should first verify.
next time they may not respond to the same location thinking again for BBQ
The caller was not drunken but basically he should definitely response like that but do you know where was the fault?
The Call might not be drunken but he might have misunderstand the satiation.

MM bhai I would give 100% on your observation humbles have 1% doubt in your visual observation
Thanks Humbles for being transparent .......... having a clear heart .........
MM - Good observation. I give you 99 %.
He [{ caller } might be drunk ...
1:30 AM, chances are it was alcohol behind all this .......
something not quite right from the caller side.
